Car description |
---|
This is my 1946 Mercury Super Eight. I completed a frame off restoration of the car about 2 years ago and have driven her a total of 1700 miles since then. I purchased the car without title and began the restoration. During the titling process, found out that the car was originally owned and operated by the Texas Rangers for the purpose of running down bootleggers between San Angelo, X and Abilene, X. The Rangers had used this car until they burnt the #7 valve and stuck it into storage. It was finally sold at an auction to a local Abilene man, ho I purchased it from a year or so later. The engine and drive train were built up so that it could do cross country trips with many upgrades to the engine. The Original matching numbers engine, lthough not installed, s complete and in my possession. This could also be sold along with the car, ut would need rebuilding.
I am inpossession and any additional photos can be taken easily if contacted.
