First American Production Front Wheel Car.This is a 1970 Oldsmobile Toronado. I amthesecondowner and have had it since the early 1990's. The car's body was completely restored in the late 1990's with many replaced body parts. There was no body filler used on the restoration. The paint was several coats of lacquer and 2 clear coats using the originalReef Turquoise Metallic paint. The black interior is all original including the floor mats. The car has the original Toronado am/fm radio - something very rare in 1970! It also has thedeluxewheel covers - These are the heavy ones that cover the entire wheel - not just the center rim.Known issues include: - The AC compressor engages but there is no gas in the system. It needs to be updated to usetoday'scoolant gases. - The interior lights do not turn off so I removed the fuse - I believe it's a switch but am not sure.- Power seat motor works and seat moves up/down and tilts. It does not move forward and backward.- The trunk needs carpeting. The original mat and jack is there but the carpet was removed and never replaced.- The muffler was replaced with a performance muffler and the resonator was not replaced. This makes the car a little louder than stock.- There is a small tear on the front bench seat - driver side.- Transmission fluid leak - This has been an issue since I purchased the car. The transmission works fine but the pan boltsconstantlyloosen. I service the transmission once a year.Otherwise the car is inimmaculate condition. The car is always garaged and is registered as a historical vehicle. I do not use it more than a few hundred miles a year. I have many spare parts that I've collected over the years that will be included. I do not drive this often. I have described it the best that I can. Please look over the photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. The car is being sold as-is.
This car is in great condition - the paint job was top notch and still looks almost new. There are a few minor hairline surface scratches that can easily be buffed out - no rust, o blistering, o deep scratches or dents. This car was kept in a heated garage with a custom fit cover over it. When I had it restored I insisted on no bondo whatsoever! The car was never hit or in a collision. The drivers fender was a Toronado NOS replacement. It was replaced because I found the replacement and the original had rust. Replacement metal (from a pair of Arizona quarter panels) was used to replace rusted sections of the quarter panels. I may have paperwork from the restoration but I will need to look for it.The Toronado has a single exhaust system. It is in good shape but not the original specs - the muffler is smaller and a performance type and the resonator was replaced with a straight tailpipe (couldn't find one and running out of money)I have an extra front wheel drive differential, ome glass, heater core, heel covers, mall trim parts, lternators, new brake drum, nd more.I don't think I have anything from the original owner but I will look, have the owners manual, few repair books, clear title in my name showing I registered it on 3/11/92.I never got around to having the seat repaired or looked at.
