Real 442, factory 4-speed, original L-69 tri-power and 3.90 posi! This is one of the exceptional cars. It looks practically new and functions just as well. It includes a binder of literature and restoration documentation.
Important #s- VT on the engine = tri-power. Trim tag- 2L= 4-speed, 5V= 442.
EXTERIOR: Laser beam straight from every angle. Even all along the bottoms there are no signs of bubbling or cracking. The doors shut like new, the windows line up perfectly. The paint is polished like a piece of glass. We have the paint formula. All the chrome and stainless on the car straight is straight, shiny and fits real well. The windshield is new, glass is crystal clear. Door jambs are detailed very nicely, new weather strips and sill plates. The red rims were restored and has a mint set of poverty caps. It has a set of reproduction Firestone redline tires. Correct T-3 headlamps too.
INTERIOR: Restored from carpet to headliner. New carpet with matching embroidered floor mats. It has mint GM seat belts in front. Aftermarket belts were added in back. The door panels, armrests, window cranks are mint. The headliner fits tight as a drum, visors and mirror are excellent. The interior lights work. The dash area is mint- dash pad, knobs, lenses, heater controls etc. New glovebox liner. It has a rare factory tachometer. The console has a vacuum gauge and a correct Hurst shifter with 442 right on the handle. The seats are reupholstered and recushioned. Original Am-Fm radio was restored, has new speaker. There is an oil and temp gauge neatly installed. The parking brake indicator light works. New turn signal switch.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the L-69 tri-power 400-360 horsepower motor. VT code is stamped at the front of the motor which designates the tri power. It was completely rebuilt and balanced, we have a detailed spec sheet. It was bored 30 over, has Comp cam and rockers, heads were redone. We have done sheet showing 364 hp and 426 lbs of torque. The carburetors were professionally restored down to the correct foam filters. It has the correct casting number on the intake. All of the components are restored. It has power steering, wiper motor, alternator, master cylinder look new, washers are hooked up. Upgraded Pertronix ignition inside stock distributor. Upgraded aluminium radiator is painted black, it has auxiliary electric fan in front. It also has the correct GM hoses, clamps, shroud and proper rubber flaps on each side of the radiator. It has an actual reproduction Delco battery, bolted down properly, new cables. Has hood insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Show quality. Super clean metal with a clean spatter finish. New 2 piece mat. Clean spare and jack assembly. The weather strip, decals, wiring is excellent. Trunk light works. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are slick.
UNDERSIDE: Front end has been all rebuilt- ball joints, bushings, shocks, springs etc. It has the rallye suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. It's also rebuilt in back- bushings, Bilstein shocks, new sway bar. It has a new Flowmaster dual exhaust with fat pipes. Bottom of the motor is clean, starter looks new. The Muncie 4 speed is clean. A new driveshaft connects to the original 12 bolt 3.90 posi rear, code TG. Fuel tank and straps look fresh. Clean, original metal floors.
I put some miles on this "sweetheart". It performed flawlessly. I felt confident and really enjoyed it. This is a rare and desirable 442, a keeper!
