Car description |

Offered for sale is my 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass "S" convertible. Believed to be correct and original, it has factory equipped: bucket seats, ‘Hurst’ 4 speed shifter, paint-matched rally wheels, and with the proper "S" badges on the fenders.Your inquiries are encouraged regarding the car's equipment or any details that help to verify its authenticity.
This car is a delight to drive and a real eye catcher. It has been very reliable, comfortable and fun. I purchased it for its incredible visual impact without being too perfect to drive, coupled with the excitementthat can only be offered by a manually shifted 4 speed V8! The reason it’s on the market is because I have lost my long-term indoor storage space.
The exterior shows very nicely as a sharp high-level driver quality example. The paint is attractive with a few minor scratches on the driver side quarter panel and a few coin size blemishes on the trunk (see photos). The body is free of dents or impressions worthy of mention except for one thumb sized dent at the right rear 1/4 panel by the marker light (see photo). Other than minor under-side surface rust to be expected on a road used 50 year old car, this is a solid example. There is some minor rust beginning in the rear 1/4 panels. (see photos). More notable is that the car passes Pennsylvania state safety inspection and has been determined to be safe and road worthy by a licensed Pennsylvania state safety inspection mechanic. Because of its age, the Pennsylvania [Antique] title I possess reads Exempt for mileage.
The chrome is all very attractive with only a few very minor impressions. There is some slight pitting on the rally wheel center caps, and some minor oxidation on the bumpers.
The interior is very attractive showing no tears or open seams, with good foam and comfortable seating support.
The car is also equipped with factory power steering, power brakes, air-conditioning, and a power top. Everything functions properly except the air-conditioning; not repaired as I only drive the car in fair weather with the top down. Most important is that the power top is BRAND NEW [by, ‘Electron Tops’]! It was just installed by an upholstery professional along with a glass window and, looks fabulous!!
While not an Oldsmobile expert, I believe the engine and transmission to be original. It runs and performs beautifully. I have owned this car four years and its been serviced by a professional. The brakes, suspension, clutch, transmission and engine all function properly and reliably.
The tires have excellent tread and ride well. The only reason to consider replacement would be because they are over fifteen years old.
If serious about entering the muscle car hobby with an affordable, safe, road ready alternative, you are encouraged to contact me with any questions (and, bid accordingly). I embraced this car for what it is (a beautiful, drivable, reliable and affordable toy). Please know it is not a museum piece, and my expectations for its sale are realistic.
Additionally, please know I prefer to maintain the spirit of a true auction and will not reveal my reserve price before it is met- I respectfully request that you do not ask.
