This 1950 Oldsmobile 88 is one of the most unique custom builds you're going to come across. There's shining paint with amazing pinstriping on the outside, an overdrive transmission, and a classic/custom A/C interior. And as you look under the hood, this is a tri-power Chevy V8! So let's just hope you can get through reading all of the details before someone else snatches this one up.
The Olds club coupe has a sporty silhouette like a business coupe, so it's already a great starting point for some custom car flair. The dark blue paint has the kind of modern metallic luster that really pops in the sunlight and instantly signals a big investment in this Olds. The chrome bumpers, bright wheel covers, and complete side trim package really add to this car's brilliance and classic attitude. And no street machine is complete without plenty of custom pinstriping. It even has genuine functioning lake pipes! But the classic style is also met with more modern slickness. Frenched headlights, shaved door handles, sport mirrors, and custom taillights all give this a sleeker look of distinction. So it's quite a unique machine. In fact, the trim tag suggests this is an Olds 76 model, which is basically the same body as the 88, except about six times rarer. So this car has all sorts of distinction.
The interior was restored to keep a vintage atmosphere while adding worthwhile modern amenities. The white seats with gray inserts and gray piping has the kind of style you'd expect from the 1950s. But the supple leather they used tells you it's a far fresher investment. The door panels, headliner, and carpeting were all done to coordinate and give this a terrific uniform style. As you look over the rest of the car, you'll spot some well-integrated modern upgrades, like power windows, an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The sports steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and you have a movable cup holder center console, so it's easy to get comfortable behind the driver's seat.
There are nice details under the hood, like how the Oldsmobile Rocket valve covers are painted blue to match the exterior. But what you're really going to take note of are the three polished air filters. They are the unmistakable look of Tri-Power. The triple set of dual-barrel Rochester carburetors are sitting on top of an Edelbrock intake. This all feeds the mighty 350 V8 underneath. There are even nice supporting components - everything from good hoses to an aluminum radiator. This has a dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers...but don't forget that the lake pipes are real, so you can open them up whenever you want for some true thunder. More than just sound mean, this one was built for true comfortable cruising. That's why you have features like power steering, a rear sway bar, and front disc brakes. The transmission was even upgraded to a 700R4 four-speed automatic with overdrive.
The sale come with the owner's manual and receipts documenting thousands $$$$$ invested in over a decade of quality care. This is a bold custom built to cruise. So if you want a total package classic, call today!
