This 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds with the cool lightning rod shifter, is one of only 3,500 that were built for the final year (and the desirable T-tops take that number down to a tantalizingly low 1,500 examples.) This one comes with the desirable T-tops, and thanks to cold-blowing air conditioning, you can take them out any time of the year.
This Hurst/Olds is correctly powered by a 307 cubic-inch V8. This motor is believed to be original, which is great because these Oldsmobile-specific powerhouses are known to be both rugged and torquey. This one has been under proper care, so not only does it have a clean and fresh look, but also the right maintenance items for a great driving classic. This includes a recent full coolant system flush and test, and there was a full transmission servicing with fluids and gasket. It's this kind of investment why the motor idles nicely and runs strong. You saw the triple-stalk Hurst shifter in the interior, and out on the road, it allows you to get the most out of the V8. And on days when you want to take it easy, the four-speed can shift itself for comfortable overdrive cruising.
