This 1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Holiday hardtop coupe represents an interesting era in all the best ways. GM's rocket division was still holding on to a hint of tailfin, and this full-size coupe has a V8 large enough to be in muscle car territory. So when this history is nicely present and preserved on an affordable classic (that also has an A/C interior) we know there are plenty of folks who take notice.
This Dynamic name seems to fit this coupe well as it carries laser-straight sheetmetal to this day. In fact, the story we were told on this coupe was that it was a garage-kept and cherished for three decades by the first owner. It has only had a handful of owners since then, and that the odometer is believed to reflect actual mileage (averaging around only 1,000 miles annually.) This Olds has been more about preservation than restoration over the decades, but there still have been the right investments to keep you loving it for more than just its history. For example, the factory-correct Cashmere Beige main color has been given a respray to remain crisp and clean. And while those polished Cragar-style wheels look terrific, traditionalists will be happy to know that there are factory wheel covers that come with the sale, too. As you look over this whole car, you start to appreciate the intricacies of the Oldsmobile's styling. The full-length trim draws attention to the quality of the body panels; the Saddle Mist upper section draws attention to the pilarless hardtop profile; and the bumpers have a little extra touch in their design so that they really fit the form of the car. It's all this stylishness that really helps you understand why this coupe would be so well respected for over half a century.
Inside is more classic style with just the right upgrades to keep you enjoying this Olds. For example, the door panels, carpeting, and headliner are believed to be preserved. But the seat upholstery has been re-done with correct-spec materials to keep this feeling both vintage and fresh. Spanning the entire width of the car, the dashboard houses a long speedometer and bright knobs and buttons for things like the headlights, windshield wipers, and heat/defrost controls. Even with this very classic look, there are a few upgrades you're going to especially like. While the original AM radio is still on display, your real driving tunes come from an AM/FM/CD stereo cleanly installed under the dash. Also, the factory air condition now keeps cool with modern R134a.
This Dynamic 88 is powered by a 394 cubic-inch V8, and it looks correct right down to the valve covers and Rocket air topper. So it's no surprise that this is believed to be the original motor on this preserved coupe. Thanks to their legendary durable construction, Oldsmobile engines of this vintage are known for their reliability and longevity. But more than just durability, it provides the right torque to smoothly move this sizable sedan. This is a luxurious Olds, and so the driving experience is meant to be an easy one. That's why it comes with features like the three-speed automatic transmission (also believed to be original), power steering, and power brakes.
Complete with owner's manual, you don't see too many Oldsmobiles like this anymore. So when it's offered at an affordable price, your opportunity at something this distinctive won't last long. Call today!!!
