Car description |
---|
Up for auction is a very nice original 1962 Oldsmobile Ninety-EightHoliday Sport Sedanwhich has always been an Oregon/Washington Statecar until February of this year. The car is now in South Carolina. The car has many factory options including deluxe wheel discs (in the trunk along with the clip fasteners), factory air conditioning, power seat, power windows, power brakes, power steering, wonder bar radio with station changer foot control and power antenna, power trunk release, rear window defroster, and safety sentinel buzzer. The tires arein good condition and the car runs and drives, although the engine could use a tune-up and the muffler has a leak in it. This car obviously was in storage for a long time before I purchased it last year from a dealer in Centralia, Washington. The door panels, seat upholstery, and headliner are all inamazing originalcondition. Only the bottom cushion of the driver's seat has a worn area. The dash pad is in mint, original condition. The package shelf behind the back seat is not misshaped or broken, but it does have several slightly discolored areas and one of the rear window defroster diffusers is missing.
The car was repainted the original color many years and still has a great shine. There are several areas where surface rust is evident here and there, and there is some minor rust damage in the right rear fender and bottom of the left rear door. The left front fender has a minor crease over the front wheel which can easily be pulled out. The front bumper has chrome plating failure, but the bumper core is solid. The rear bumper shines brightly. All of the rest of the chrome/stainless trim pieces are intact and in great condition.
All of the interior and exterior lights work. When the front doors are opened, the courtesy and dome lights come on. Even the indirect lights behind the Ninety-Eight name plate on the dashboard shine at night. The heater works fine with an auxiliary switch below the dashboard. Two of the power windows work fine; the front passenger window is slow, so I haven't tried to put it down. I have not been able to get the left rear window to go down. The A/C does not work, but the fan comes on. The Wonderbar radio does not come on, but the power antenna works, as does the rear window defroster.
The car also comes with the originalbuyer protection plan bookletand owner's manual. The original trunk liner isintact, with only a few stainsand includes the original spare tire, which is presently installed on theright front wheel for looks.
I am trying to finda new owner for this great car due to not having the time to give it the attention it deserves. It has always been garaged as the condition attests. Please email through eBay with questions and I will do my best to answer them. Bidders are welcome from the 48 contiguous United States only, please. Also, please have a successful eBay bidding history in order to place a bid on this car. Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding!
