FOR SALE : 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 - Rare 2 Door Sedan with 3 piece rear windows.
Only 2900 of this style car made.
I purchased this vehicle around 2013 from a private sale in Michigan.Had car shipped enclosed - to my home North of Boston MA. Had plans to add a air bag system, and make it a rat / rod style cruiser. didn't want to really mess with it much.
As it usually goes with toys. I barley drove / drive the car. Literally maybe 500 miles in those years?
I did however, Right away.- Remove the Original motor and send for rebuild. Entire motor stripped down at a local speed shop including sand blasting, entire gasket, poison, rings etc.- Ripped the Original Transmission and sent that for rebuild too. However, it was recommended to me after install, I should have just installed a 700R4 Transmission in for simplicity. Thats what We did.I still have the rebuilt tranny here at home. You can have it too.
The car is obviously not a factory color / style vehicle. ( ORIG color was mint green i think )The floor boards were patched prior to me. Car has normal wear and tear and is not pristine, most of you know that with it being a 57.The paint is a primer black. still looks nice.Would look super cool painted and pin striped, also another plan i had.
While all that was getting completed, I also did the following :- New fuel tank with filler tube- fuel sending unit connected. not hooked up at dash.- Interior Led strip- Front head lights with HALO switched lights.- 4 New tires- Exhaust- send power steering pump out for COMPLETE rebuild by a known PRO.- Cd player with AUX - 2 Front - 2 Rear Speakers.- New horn w momentary switch- Flame thrower ignition set up.- Electric windshield wipers.- Brand new 4 barrel HOLLEY carb.- Radiator removed, pressure tested and rebuilt as needed.
I have MANY MANY old / spare parts that came with the car too. everything from chrome trim, headlight trim, emblems etc. Also, fluids, oils and other MISC items i will pack with the vehicle.
Also, I have the ORIG A/C compressor and inside fan unit. ( WHICH I WAS TOLD WORKS )
Lastly, The front and Passenger door glass is cracked. Prior owner did not purchase safety glass i believe. The large box in the back seat is the BRAND NEW DOOR GLASS that i have yet to install - i have window felts and other items too ill toss in if i can find.
Just looking to get whats fair market for the car today. obviously not what i have into it.
I am NOT a dealer -This Vehicle is being sold with no warranty. As is - IF you need a better Photo or have a question, by all means just ask. Try and provide an email for me to respond to with if a photo.
