Car description

1994 Oldsmobile Silhouette. The good:Vintage 1990's style. Seats 7. Reliable. Good tires. New brakes. EGR valve replaced 3 years ago. Intake manifold gasket replaced in early 2019. The back 5 seats can be removed, so lots of cargo room. V6 with a 4 speed auto trans, so decent gas mileage. Cruise control works as it should. The bad: Passenger window does not work. There is a short in the wiring somewhere. I think it is in the main harness in the drivers door. It would only work when the driver door was closed, not when it was open. The A/C does not work. It did, but the A/C clutch bearing started to make a noise, so I just bypassed it. The driver seat has seen better days, but is not too bad. The headliner is sagging, which is typical for these. It was backed into just in front of the rear driver wheel well (see pic). But, that is where the rear aux heater core is and it started to leak. I had a shop bypass the coolant tubes that ran to it. Don't really need an extraheater here in N.C. Now for the killer. This has the ALCL connector that was the "in between" year. In 1994, the change from OBD I to OBD II was in motion. Well, this one is in between. You can not access the diagnostic via the "paper clip" method and you can not just go to Autozone and have a scanner hooked up to it either. You need and actualdedicated scanner for this year. There was one guy in my area that had one, but has since retired and moved on. Now, stating that, the check engine light is not on. I merelystate this for your own information. The Ugly: It's a 90's Oldsmobile Silhouette. You either think they're pretty, or ugly, or pretty ugly. AM/FM CASSETTE player. Yes, cassette player. And yes, it does work. This thing has it's quirks, minor leaks and creeks, but overall a good van. I have kept the oil changed every 5000 miles and changed the plugs, wires, air filter and trans fluid and filter at 202,000 miles. Pick up only in N.C., or you can arrange pick up by a private carrier. I will hold the vehicle up to 21 days after the sale to give you time. Payment via deposit via paypal with the balance due at pick-up or 3 days after sale. Questions??? Please ask. I am only listing this here twice. This is the first listing. After that, it's off to Craigslist.
