This car has excellent upside potential. A real deal #'s matching Very Original 442 Convertible...that does not need a ton of work, but some tinkering...anything expensive is already done.
Excellent Arizona car until 1999. The car is honestly a very rust free example with perfect floors, frame, trunk, 1/4 panels, fenders, etc.
The man I bought it from had the engine and trans rebuilt in 2000, and only put a few thousand miles on it since then. He had the car stripped and repainted in correct Code R Solar Red. The paint shows very nicely! The Convertible top was new at that time as well...new pump, cylinders, top works great!
The interior I had intended to recover the front seats, but unfortunately only ever got as far as doing the carpet.
The car has mainly sat for the past 3 years.
I would look at the brakes (4 wheel power drum) I'm including a front disc brake conversion with the sale. ($1,000 value)all fluids just done.
Get a set of front seat upholstery. Front seats have covers over the original upholstery, but you can buy a new PUI set for $300. Dash, and rear seat are nice, console is nice. Some misc. emblems need to be installed...I have them.
I would also put on new tires as these are getting old and one of the rear tires leaks down after a week.
Car runs and drives...has a trunk load of spare parts, new grills, mirrors, etc.
The great thing about this car is it is a real deal...#'s matching 442 Convertible with a perfect body, nice paint, a new top, motor and trans have been sorted out...just needs a weekend or two of tinkering and maybe $1,000 in "stuff"...ie, front upholstery, tires.
Spend a weekend on this car...and you got yourself a winner. I just don't have the time anymore to play with these cars.
I priced it with a lot of room to be on the plus side of things when you are done with this car. You can never lose money on this car. It's a Red/Black #'s matching rock solid 442 Convertible! That you don't have to paint or put a top on or play with the drivetrain. My loss is your gain.
I have a Central Dispatch Account and can ship you this car faster than your wife can get her Amazon order, at a wholesale cost.
This car is listed elsewhere and auction can and will be ended in the event of a sale outside of eBay.
Clean, Clear, lien free Illinois title!
