1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible 442 TributeThis 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass is a true muscle car! Combining the luxury and styling of an Oldsmobile and the performance of a muscle car, this car is the Best of Both Worlds!
Due to escalating insurance costs and new regulations in the early 70s, these performance cars (like the Chevy Chevelle, the Buick GS and the Pontiac GTO) were built with the 442 performance package as standard equipment but included no nomenclature in order to reduce insurance premiums. As built, this car came from the factory with the existing cowl hood and opening air cleaner, the N-25 dual exhaust through the bumper, the original 4-speed transmission with the console & bucket seats, and a 12 bolt rear end. While the engine is not original it does have the correct date code.
Seller has owned this car for the past 15 years and it has since been garage kept.Adult Owned. A frame-off restoration was performed on this car about 7 years ago. Look through the photos for proof of condition: included in photos are exterior, interior, engine bay and under carriage of the car, all showing how solid and clean this car is, even the current frame and floors! Car boasts original seat covers, and the original factory wheels are included with the sale.
Original options on the car included power brakes, power steering, power top and A/C. The original radio is also available with the sale. During the restoration, Dakota Digital dash gauges were installed, including a GPS speed odometer. As equipped, car currently features 17" tires on new American Racing style rims. This is an original triple black car. The hood has a fiberglass upper panel with a steel reinforcement lower panel and hood pins--evidence of the original equipment and not an aftermarket replacement.
The 455 engine was professionally rebuilt and bored 40 over, and includes Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake, complete roller lifters and rockers, and 10.5:1 compression. The suspension was rebuilt with polyurethane boots and bushings. Drives, rides and performs just as it should! This is a Real Head Turner! One bit of advice: Make sure you take it out on a day when you have plenty of time as everyone stops to talk about it, the classic muscle cars they grew up with, and the ones they will always remember! This IS ONE of Those....
This is Not Your Dad's Oldsmobile...!
