Selling my completely restored 1968 Oldsmobile 442. Started as a very clear original. Had body stripped to bare metal, base coat, clear coat with Dupont paint. Outstanding paint finish and minimal body work was needed. No rust anywhere on the car. All chrome is exceptional, show quality as it all the plastic. All new glass around the whole car. The stripes are vinyl so you can easily change the color if you wish. Original 400 HO motor was removed, bored .30 over by legendary Southern California engine builder Bob Small. Dynoed last year at 415 horsepower at rear wheels. New 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. Rebuilt 12 bolt pos rearend. Power disc brakes, power steering, electronic ignition, custom mandrel bent stainless exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Nothing but the best was used for the entire drivetrain. I added the totally functional and correct W30 induction system with twin scoops under the front bumper. I was going to add the red fenders to the front but thought they were distracting on an all black and white car. Car stays cool even in the middle of summer.. can cruise all day at 80 m.p.h. or lay down serious rubber on the street. The interior was completely restored- new carpet, new door panels, new headliner. Dash was removed and shipped to a gauge restorer in New York... cost over $5,000 to have the original dash. gauges, etc restored to new. Exterior and interior is flawless. Unique and rare factory bench seat, column shift, manual window 442. It came with factory steel wheels in 14 inch but I upgraded to 15 inch wheels with BFG Radial T/A's. I believe this was a custom order car back in 1968 for someone who planned on racing it. I don't have the original build sheet, as it was nothing more than a pile of dust under the rear seat, so I don't know if it was an original w30 or not. We've taken this car to many large regional and local shows- we've never left without winning a Best in Class or Best of Show trophy/ award. The car is insured with Hagerty with an agreed value of $60,000. The car was also professionally photographed a few months ago and will appear in a national advertising campaign for BF Goodrich tires this summer. Have to let her go now that I have two young kids and priorities have changed. Happy to answer any questions. Clay 9 four 9 two 3 three 4 six 7 seven.
