‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this award-winning all-numbers matching 1964 Oldsmobile F-85 442 Convertible finished in its factory original (Code V) Holiday Red wrapped around an all-original black bucket seat interior. This one-of-a-kind example has only 40,000 original miles and is heavily documented w/ EVERY piece of original paperwork & EVERY original Point of Purchase item from day one! It is a very well-known car in the Oldsmobile world and has been featured in several national Muscle Car magazines, as well as winning Top Honors @ The Oldsmobile Nationals. This 3-owner example is the most documented example of its kind in the country, w/ written testimonials from the original owners, which lay out a detailed story of the cars entire life. On June 13th 1964, Rollo & Ruth Alderfer were looking for a new 1964 Pontiac GTO when they went to their local dealership, Dellen Oldsmobile in Indianapolis, Indiana, and saw the brand new 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 442 Convertible sitting on a rotating pedestal in the middle of the showroom floor. They plopped down a $50 deposit to hold the car, and came back on June 15th 1964 to pay the balance due. The sale price was $3,813.47. Factory options included: B09 Police Apprehender Pursuit Package, Roto-Matic Power Steering, Pedal-Ease Power Brakes, Windshield Washer w/ 2-Speed Wipers, Glare-Proof Tilt Mirror, Y60 Accessory Group, Back-Up Lights, Deluxe Radio, Door-Edge Guards, Remote Outside Mirror, Deluxe Wheel Discs, Red-Line Polyglas Tires, Deluxe Retractable Front Seat Belts, Soft-Ray Tinted Windshield, & Front Compartment Console. The Alderfer’s thoroughly enjoyed their new 442 Convertible, using it as a daily driver for the first three years, and then on weekends from then on. I recently spoke w/ Mrs. Alderfer on the phone & she was delighted that her ’64 Olds 442 Convertible was still being cared for & in such pristine condition. In 1988, Ruth’s husband passed away and the car was given to their oldest son Randy w/ 24,540 miles on the odometer. Randy drove the car to Dallas, Texas, for the Dallas Autorama where he met several folks from the NTOC (North Texas Oldsmobile Club), joining the club soon after. During this time, Randy met two avid Olds enthusiasts, Richard & Debbie Hirsch, who told him that if he ever wanted to sell his car to please call them first. He then went on to show the car for the next 10 years at numerous shows around the country, winning awards & plaques at every event that he entered, including the 1999 Oldsmobile Nationals, where the car was awarded ‘BEST IN CLASS’. On October 29, 1989, during the halftime at a Cowboys vs. Cardinals game where Leroy Jordan was being inducted in the Hall of Fame, the car was driven onto & around the field @ Texas Stadium w/ Don Meredith & Chuck Howley sitting in the back waving to the crowd. In 1999, before winning 'BEST IN CLASS' @ the Oldsmobile Nationals, Randy had completed a cosmetic restoration, including a professional re-paint in its factory original Holiday Red, complete undercarriage detailing including NOS exhaust system, new seals, new top, etc., and the motor & transmission were completely rebuilt to factory specifications. In 2000, Richard & Debbie Hirsch got the phone call from Randy that they were waiting for, becoming the second owners of the ’64 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible w/ just over 38,000 miles. The Hirsch’s continued the tradition of showing the car nationally and First Place awards & top honors everywhere they went. They clocked less than 2000 miles in 10 years of ownership, and meticulously maintained the car in every aspect. In 2010, I spoke w/ Paul Teutul Sr. from OCC, and he told me that he had met the second owners of a heavily documented 1964 Olds 442 Convertible w/ 40K original miles, and that he was trying to get a deal done. I asked him to please call me first if he ever decided to sell the car. Fast forward to November, 2016, when Paul Sr. called and said that he was selling many of his classic cars and asked if I still wanted to ’64 Olds 442 Ragtop. The car now sits on our showroom floor here in St. George, Utah w/ only 40,070 original documented miles. The New York title & registration is still in Paul Sr.’s name, which will of course go to the new owner. After 18 years of selling high-end classic cars, I can safely say that this 1964 Olds 442 Convertible is one of my all-time favorite acquisitions. The overall condition is nothing short of spectacular! The car retains all of its 100% original rust-free sheet metal which is laser straight all the way around, & the Holiday Red paint is absolutely gorgeous w/ a brilliant shine that appears to be a mile deep. All of the original stainless trim & chrome is simply outstanding, as are the original bumpers, etc. The white vinyl top is excellent, and the original black boot is still in the trunk. Everyone who sees this car stands there with their jaw hanging open! It is a VERY special car indeed. Open the driver’s door and you will find an all-original untouched black vinyl bucket seat interior w/ console that simply boggles the mind. Again, this interior is ALL-ORIGINAL and in spectacular condition! All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, knee-knocker tachometer, AM radio, lighter, EVERYTHING is in perfect working condition. The power top goes up and/or down quickly and precisely like new. I have never seen an all-original interior on a classic car that is anywhere near as nice! Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the factory original numbers matching 330ci/310hp Police Apprehender V8 motor, linked the factory original numbers matching Muncie 4-speed transmission, which feeds power to the factory original 3.55 rear end! The original Protect-Plate is the only place you will find the engine & transmission numbers as they are not VIN derived, but specially assigned numbers. Without it, there is no way of knowing if your '64 442 is numbers matching or not. All components under the hood including hoses, clamps, etc., are factory correct throughout, including the AC Delco DC12 battery. She starts, idles, runs, drives & performs flawlessly w/ an amazing amount of power & torque! She shifts smooth & crisp like new & runs strong through all four gears. There are absolutely NO rattles, NO squeaks, and NO unwanted sounds whatsoever! It feels like you are driving a brand new 1964 Olds 442 Convertible! The day-one original documentation is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, including: Original Window Sticker, Original Dealer Sales Invoice, Original Warranty Booklet w/ Original Protecto-Plate, Original Broadcast Cards, Original Owner’s Manual, Original Convertible Top Manual, Original ’64 Oldsmobile Equipment Brochure, Original ’64 Oldsmobile Specs/Colors/Trim Brochure, Original Interior Hang Tags, Original ’64 Oldsmobile Fleet Facts Booklet, Original 1964 Oldsmobile Ditzler Color Chart, Original ’64 442 Product Sales Information Booklet, Original Pre-Delivery Inspection Sheets, Complete Set of (5) ’64 Oldsmobile Service Manuals, Original ‘64 Oldsmobile Dealer Sales Binder, Original ’64 Oldsmobile Flat-Rate Manual Binder, ‘Muscle Car Review’ Magazine Features, Photos & Ticket Stubs from the Texas Stadium Appearance, Original 1964 Indiana License Plates, Typed Testimonials from the Original owners, and on & on! She has everything you look for in an investment-grade classic car: all-original sheet metal, all-original born-with driveline, extensive original documentation from day one, not to mention arguably the most beautiful color combination available in 1964. Factor in the amazing driveability and show-winning appearance, and you have a rare classic muscle car that simply has no equal!
