1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
Very nice one family owned Oldsmobile Cutlass, has the small V-8 with less than 87,000 original miles, automatic transmission and ICE COLD air conditioning. My wife's Uncle purchased it for his wife at Shelton Olds-Pontiac-Buick-GMC, McMinnville, TN, July 24th, 1979. His wife passed away 1997 and kept the Cutlass in the family, using it only on weekends. As he got older, he drove less and less but would enjoy looking at the Cutlass remembering the good times. With his passing a few months back, we now decided to sell the vehicle. The car has been garage kept since day one.
The build sheet states it was manufactured in Coraville, GA. There are 48 options on the build sheet including a/c, am/fm 8 track ( it works ! ... I will include some 8 tracks ! ), aluminum intake manifold, front disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, sport mirrors and many other items; the build sheet speaks for itself. The engine is the 260 Oldsmobile V-8 not used by others in the GM family, that itself is a rarity. This was an era where you could order as much or as little on a vehicle to suit your desire and not have a "copy" like other buyers which is what is done today. Starts & runs good as always was dealer maintained.
The paint is clean and shines well.Never wrecked, not even a bump. No body rust with solid trunk, floor pans, & doors close perfectly with no sagging. The rally wheels have matching factory paint with original chrome trim rings which looks terrific. The vinyl roof has no tears or dry rot. Absolutely no rust underneath the vinyl...just as it left the factory. Interior good though door panels do show some wear (no tears or breaks, just faded). Also, the overhead light is missing the plastic lens ( Uncle put it in his shirt pocket when changing the bulb and misplaced it, he blamed the washing machine during the wash...LOL ) and a minor wear spot on the drivers side seatback where Uncle used a 1" piece of duct tape. Since he passed, we have added newer tires, exhaust and battery for peace of mind.
NADA value with the V-8 motor in this condition is $7,245-$12,592. As you know, classic cars, especially the Cutlass will fetch more, so the opening bid is realistic, Please bid accordingly to your budget which should include research on your shipping charges if any.
The Title has been signed by the 4 Executors & a copy of the Death Certificate will be furnished for registration. The original Title was in the wife's name and upon her death in 2007, it was transferred into the husband's name. Please check with your MVB to see if this will suffice as it does here in TN. as to the signatures of the Executors & Death Certificate. If not, the estate attorney will get a Title in my name within 10-14 days (remember this is TN so it will be that quick !) & will be sent Priority Mail. If you decide to have vehicle titled in my name, you will receive the Title in all probability before a transport company can deliver the vehicle to you. Should you decide this, remember the Title will be "second owner" as my last name is different.
