Car description |

1965 might be the second year for the Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, but for those who love American muscle, you know this is the year the horsepower wars really heated up. So not only are you now looking at a great classic with bucket seats, A/C, and an automatic, but also the newly available 400 cubic-inch V8 turned this luxury Olds into a street-eating machine. The Oldsmobile Cutlass was already a great-looking car, and the 442 package added a touch of aggression to its straight-laced style. It was the perfect way for the boss to think you're sensible, but on the weekends, everyone knew not to mess with the wild child. It's especially seen in this one with the factory-correct C-code Provincial White. It appears nice and conservative from a far, but as people get a little closer, they start to be drawn in by the exceptional shine that comes from a serious investment in modern paint practices. The time, money, and care in getting the color right pay off the moment the car hits the sunlight. The straight sheetmetal body shines as brightly as the complete brightwork on the chrome bumpers, full side trim, and factory-style wire wheel covers.Open the door, and you'll instantly remember what premium looked like in the 60s. The button top red vinyl interior is pristine, which is nice because it's tough to retain the correct intricate stitching on the restored bucket seats and door panels. The dashboard is one of those great exercises in driver dominance. The big chrome panel houses everything including the extra wide speedometer, original style AM radio, and full climate control that includes factory air conditioning. A wood steering wheel was added for a touch of class, and everyone loves seeing the bright and sleek center console that truly appears jet-inspired.Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. The 400 cubic-inch V8 looks impressive with its chrome air cleaner and valve covers that compete for shine against the correct golden block. On top of that is a four-barrel carburetor. The power makes a terrific rumble as it exits out of the long tube headers that feed the newer stainless dual exhaust (Yup...400 cubic inches, four-barrel carburetor, and dual exhaust the namesake of the 1965 Oldsmobile 4-4-2.) While all of this is perfect for some serious muscle car power on the road, one subtle upgrade will make all the difference in this coupe. You might have noticed the aluminum radiator with electric fan. It's the kind of upgrade that allows you to stay cool no matter if your idea of classic summer motoring involves an all-day cruise or the stoplight grand prix. In fact, versatile features are the key to this coupe. It has power steering and a two-speed automatic, so it feels good no matter how you drive it.This 442 has been given serious investments to make sure the factory-correct colors look their best and the V8 offers an amazing soundtrack. Beautiful to look at and a joy to drive, it's hard not to get excited about a turnkey ready classic that's so affordable to take home. Call today!!!
