Car description

For Sale: 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Holiday Coupe

1970 442 W-30 Holiday Coupe. Unrestored, 5,000 mile original four speed car needing COMPLETE restoration. Original Nugget Gold exterior color paint ( - - paint code). Nugget Gold was one of four special order exterior colors designated by a dash (-) on the cowl tag. The other three special order colors were Aegean Aqua, allye Red, nd Sebring Yellow. Black bucket seat interior, nd black stripes. Original numbers matching motor not current installed in the car, owever, s included with the sale.

One family car from 1970-2015. This was a customer ordered car delivered in February, 970 at Roy Lang Oldsmobile, n Bradley, llinois. The original owner owned the car from 1970 to approximately 1977, t which point the car was purchased by the original owner's brother. The second owner (brother) owned from 1977-2015. Owner #2 was involved in the ordering of the car when new, nd remembered many details, nd history of the car. Owner #2 worked as an airline mechanic at O'Hare airport. Due to his long commute the original motor was replaced with a smaller V-8 in the 70's or 80's (for better gas mileage) and remains in the car today. The original motor, ith original aluminum intake manifold, as covered and stored in his garage. The original motor is believed to have approximately 40,000 original miles, nd the car itself has approximately 45,000 miles. While I cannot verify these figures, knew Owner #2 for many years, nd he would have had no reason to misrepresent the car. Two motors are included with the car - the one currently in the car, nd the original motor (not in the car). Two transmissions are also included with the sale. The transmission in the car is not original, nd the second loose four speed transmission "may" be the original transmission. The second transmission has Owner #2's name and "W-30" engraved on the case, owever there are no numbers on this transmission, nd therefore I cannot "match" it to the car. This second transmission has two broken ears, nd a cracked case. Buyers should assume the transmissions included with the sale are NOT original to the car as I do not know with certainty. The original rear end was a 3.91, nd was removed in the 70's/80's, gain in the interest of better gas mileage. The rear in the car is a mystery rear end, ot original to the car.

Owner #2 had fun with this car. He told me nothing could touch it on the street back in the day. Being a mechanic by trade he would switch motors, ransmissions, nd rear ends whenever he felt like it. He was very adamant about keeping the original engine though as he planned to restore the car one day.

Options on the car when ordered new are special order paint, lose ratio four speed transmission, .91 rear, ucket seats, nd SS1 wheels. There is no documentation for the SS1 wheels, owever Owner #2 told me they were on the car originally. No power steering from new. This car was ordered to go fast, eriod.

Missing from the car are the original wheels, riginal transmission and original rear end (see above text), riginal distributor, riginal carburetor, nd ram air cleaner.

This car is not for the amateur restorer as the body, loor, nd frame are all rough. The body has significant rust, he floors are weak, nd the frame has rust. As a side note, n additional, ood condition frame is available for $600 from the same pick-up point as the car. This is a TOTAL restoration project. The car does appear to be original paint. The original ram air hood is cracked in the front (see photo. Please note, n the ram air hood photo, he parts surrounding the hood are not from this car, nd NOT included). The original 1970 only, ugget gold sport mirrors are not installed on the car, owever, re included. Thecorrect aluminum intake ison the original motor, nd included in the sale.

Documentation includes broadcast card, ill of sale, re-delivery inspection checklist, nvelope from Roy Lang Olds dated February,1970, rotecto-plate, nd owners manual/plastic envelope.

The car is not running, r drivable, nd will need to be trailered from Jackson, ichigan. The car is being sold as-is, ith no warranty expressed, r implied. Not interested in trades. I have described the car to the best of my ability. Serious buyers may contact 312-237-0361 with any questions, r to schedule an inspection.
