PARTIAL RESTORATION PROJECT
Up for sale today, is a very Rare 1925 NASH AJAX Advance Six also known as a Light 6, Closed Sedan, in extremely nice, partially restored condition. If you are familiar with this car, you know that it's a very advanced car for its time with a powerful 6 Cylinder Engine, Brakes on all 4 wheels and is known to drive extremely smooth with Independent Leaf Spring Suspension on All 4 Wheels. This car was collector owned for many years and he had a very large collection of Antique and Classic Cars. All major restoration and hard work has already been performed as follows:
Body off Frame Restoration
Rebuilt Brakes and Suspension
Cleaned, Detailed and Painted Frame
Completely Rebuilt 6 cylinder Engine - Rings, Bearings, Pistons, Valves
Rebuilt Transmission
Rebuilt Rear End with new bearings, seals, etc.
All new wood
New Radiator with correct original style core
Mostly Original N.O.S. parts used.
5 - Very Rare Solid Steel Wheels (nicely detailed and painted in correct 2 tone green with AJAX Center Caps
Front and Rear Bumpers included (in straight condition).
Much more
The restoration began many years ago by a noted Classic Car collector as a Body Off restoration. Frame and suspension has been completely restored along with the braking system. The body and fenders have all been repainted and the body and fenders are very straight, however, they could use respraying again because there are some scratches and other flaws from sitting around for a long time. The hood will need a little more work because it's not as straight as the body.
Included with sale:
• 5 Solid Steel Wheels with good tires but tubes should be replaced.
• Original glass to be used as patterns for new glass
• Crank Window Regulators
• Door Latches and most Hardware
• Front Seat, still with original Mohair fabric
• Complete Rear Seat with Backrest and Lower Cushion
• Inside door panels made from wood based on original patterns. May need work again.
• Split Rear Bumpers - Right and Left
• Correct Carburetor as installed
• Electric Starter as installed
• Generator as installed
• Lots of other miscellaneous parts
Items known to be missing:
• Gas Tank - Very easy to have one made. Other models fit this car
• Dash Gauges - I'm told that other models will fit.
• Rear Bumper Brackets - Rear Bumpers are Included
• Running Boards - easily obtainable through Hemmings
• Headlight Trim Rings and Buckets - easily obtainable through Hemmings
• There may be other small items missing.
To finish, this Nash needs New Paint and Body Work, Glass made (original glass provided for patterns), Roof Covering, Interior Upholstery, New Running Boards, Wiring, Exhaust and a few other things. Very basic to complete. Great Father and Son Project or just use the car to advertise your business.
There is a great article on the 1925-26 Nash Ajax which appeared in Hemmings Motor News if interested.
Also included is a Clean Title with matching Vin and Cowl Tags, Original Owners Manual, Original Registration dating back to 1927.
DISCLAIMER: It is obvious by looking at the pictures that this is not a perfect car. Restoration had begun several years ago but now this car has been sitting for a long time. Much of the cosmetic work that had been done may have to be cosmetically freshened up again, depending on your preference. It's also safe to assume that some parts may be missing. Car is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Please study the pictures carefully and feel free to ask as many questions as you need.
Thanks for looking.
