Car description |

Rare 1989 Mitsubishi Montero LS 4x4 SUV. This hard-to-find vehicle is all original and stock. Luxury LS version. VERY cool and unique look, and can even be mistaken for high-end Mercedes-Benz G Class “G-Wagen”. Having wanted a first generation Montero like this for many years, I finally got one…but now have come to realize that I do not have time or energy to restore it like I wanted to, so here’s your chance to grab this rare vehicle.
RUNS and DRIVES, it could best be described as being in generally fair condition overall for a 28-year-old vehicle, BUT it’s a perfect candidate for further restoration. It’s all there and all original. Automatic, 4 door, 4x4, A/C, power windows & locks (all of which work), and original Mitsubishi stereo w/equalizer. Recently has had new valve cover gasket installed, new throttle control/kickdown cable, distributor cap, spark plugs/plug wires, hoses, and oil/filter change. Off-road tires are virtually new, too. It has a clean Texas title in my name.
Known issues with the vehicle: Cracked windshield (I was quoted less than $200 for OEM replacement from local auto glass company); gas gauge not working due to faulty fuel sender unit (you can find them cheap here on eBay); A/C works but seems to need recharge; body has various dents and dings but no major damage; paint is certainly not perfect; various cosmetic issues in and out (FYI, cosmetic parts are available out there nationwide from salvage yard donor vehicles – I can help you locate them if you would like my assistance); I also believe it needs new shocks or other suspension work, but my mechanic checked it out and didn’t indicate any specific problems to me.
This rare and classic 28-year-old vehicle is sold AS-IS! Photos represent it well, I believe.I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, though, so please ask. I will do whatever I can to accommodate you with regard to vehicle pick-up by you or the vehicle transport service of your choice. Vehicle is located in Fort Worth, Texas and near major interstates for easy pick-up. Also, there is NO reserve price on this auction! Check my feedback and bid/buy with confidence....and thanks!
