Car description

You are bidding on a very original and complete, genuine 1964 Morris Cooper. This is an Australian Cooper that was originally purchased, along with several other Coopers and Cooper S cars about 15 years ago from a collector in northern Australiaand eventually made its way to Arizona. If you’re not familiar with Australian Coopers and Cooper Ss, they were shipped from England to Australia in knocked-down form. In Australia, they received Australian style VIN tags and engine tags, Australian upholstery, which on the Coopers did not include the brocade seats like the English Coopers but rather, a thicker, monotone vinyl due to the hotter, drier climate in Australia, which would have quickly destroyed the English style brocade interiors. Australian Coopers had a much wider variety of colors too, and the top and lower body colors were embossed on the VIN tag (see pictures).
This is a true Morris Cooper with the original 55 HP, 998cc engine and transmission it came with from the factory in England. As you can see from the pictures of the various numbers, the engine number on the VIN tag matches the engine number stamped into the block (Australian assembled Minis did not use the England-supplied aluminum engine tags attached with rivets, but had the engine number stamped right into the block where the aluminum tag would ordinarily go.) You will also notice that the body number stamped on the firewall below the VIN tag matches the body number on the VIN tag. The carburetors are also the original, correct AUD 104 ones that came on the car from the factory (see picture). This car has never been modified in any way. A previous owner partially dismantled it, sanded it down, and primed it, but did nothing else to it. Rust is essentially non-existent on this car (see pictures) as would be expected since the climate in northern Australia is similar to the climate in Arizona. I have gone through all the parts and have accounted for everything that is unique to the Cooper cars, including the correct 100 MPH speedometer, oil and water temp gauges, correct disc brakes and rotors, chrome trim that goes around the door windows, grill, engine, carbs, remote mount gearshift, correct transmission, etc, being present. The parts that were not unique to the Coopers are also present, like the lights, original steering wheel, signals, pedals, master cylinders, etc. The only things I couldn't account for were a few things that would not be saved when dismantling a car, like worn out rubber components that would ordinarily be replaced during a restoration. The car was originally dark green with a white top and light green seats, a beautiful combination. The seats still have the original light green upholstery on them, and part of the top, as well as the doors and hood, still have their original white and dark green paint.
Interested buyers can contact me for more information, the car can be seen in person in Surprise, Arizona, and I can assist with arranging transportation to you anywhere in the US.
**Car has a clear, notarized AZ title**
