1973 British Leyland Mini. This has been a weekly driver for the last 14 years of ownership. It had rust when I got it in 2002 and the nose panel, uter sills and sections of the floor were replaced by Monte Carlo Mini in Charlotte NC. Original Heritage panels were used other than for one outer sill which was aHadrian patternpart bought from Seven Enterprises CA. It has moved to overseas duty locations and back to the USAas I moved with the US Army.I have way to many things done to it to list but below is a some of the work done.1.Complete new Exhaust system from Manilflow UK, rom manifold to tailpipe installed by Midas September 2014.2. Completely adjustable suspension system installed and set up by Superfast Minis in Royston GA October 2014.3. Alloy radiator and electric cooling fan kit installed by Minispeed UK 2011. The car was put on a dyno and setup to run correctly with a stage one kit from Minispares UK.4. Brakes upgraded from front drums to 8.4" disk brakes with Minifin alloy drums in the back with a brake booster. All parts used were new AP Lockheed parts. 5. Rubber cone suspension changed to springs with adjustable height with KYB silver shocks by DC Minis in Potters Bar UK behind Minispares.6. Complete new interior done by Ashley James upholstery in the UK which looks stock. The seats have leather seating surfaces. 7. Head gasket was starting to seep a bit and it was changed with all new valve guides at Pierce Auto in Converse TX. New carbneedle (AAU)at the same time.New Sickspeed horns also fitted August 2015.8. It has a trailer hitch for a small motorcycle trailer installed. This is not generic but Mini specific from P&L Minis in the UK and installed correctly on the rear sub-frame by BC Cars Kolb in Germany.9. All oil and fuel lines are steel braided.10. Has a sound system that you can actually hear with 4 speakers and dynamat sound deadner has been applied extensively.11. New battery August 2014 and new car length power cable from battery to engine compartment from Minisport.12. Stock late model Rover Minilight wheels have been blasted and powder-coated.13.New clutch master and slave cylinder as well as braided clutch hoses and new clutch arm.14. Petronix electric ignition with Lucas sport coil.15. New starter andstartersolenoid in February 2014.16. Custom Consoles dashboard front speaker pods and under rear seat speaker board.17. I have replaced most of the switches that were dodgy and it has had both its wiper and light stalk switchers replaced on the column at a date I cant remember.18. Gas tank was changed from the smaller 5 gallon tank to the larger later 9 gallon tank in February 2014 at BC Cars Kolb Germany. The used larger tank was cleaned and treated before being installed.19. New alternator, ater pump and 11 blade plastic fan which was a Rover original part.20. Fuse box was converted from the old glass fuses to modern blade fuses with a fuse box from Huddersfield Spares, re a Mini shop in West Yorkshire UK. (Lot easier to replace and works much better.)The car is very capable as a daily driver and there is much I have simply forgotten to add. Spent over $18000 in parts and labor during the time I have owned it on bodywork new parts and upgrades. It has topped out beyond the 90 Mph speedometer when I was stationed in Germany but I only did that once. Very capable of maintaining 80Mph on the freeway.Everything in the car works and is probably in better shape than when it left the factory. It feels like a modern car that stops, urns and goes like a modern car should, nstead of something that is more than 40 years old.The mileage is original and has not turned over with just 67 thousand miles. When I bought it, he mileage was approximately 35,000 which was backed up by the records provided by the seller. (Copies of the British annual inspections and the date and mileage written on the air filter)I am not giving this car away, or am I in a hurry to sell after almost 14 years of ownership.I have not seen another Mini with upgrades that looks as close to stock as this one in this shape in any Mini meet or British car event. It has a clean title and is registered in Texas with antique vehicle plates and is valid for the next 5 years. The only reason for selling is because I have another Mini and this one is not seeing much use. $15500.
