1960 MGA 1600 Roadster

I am listing this MGA for the owner. Please read the entire description.

This1960 MGA 1600 has been in the owners family since 1961. Recently out of long term drystorage.

Excellent platform for a complete restoration, r without a ton of work back to daily driver condition. The body is in good condition. It was re-painted Red from it's original color which was white. This was done many years ago. There is rust, ut nothing that would be considered major. The areas of rust include the trunk with one small spot of rust through in the upperright hand corner. Some minor rust in the rockers along with several places in the door skins. The cars frame is solid and straight.

Once out of storage we lubricated the cylinders and turned the engine through by hand crank about a 100 times. Reinstalled spark plugs, reed up the started bendix put 12 volts to the starter and she fired up almost immediately on carburetor cleaner. We filled the carb bowls with gas and found that there is a hairline crack in the forward bowl. Once repaired I believe it will run on it's own. The carbs are oiled and move freely.

All of the hydraulics will need to be gone through/replaced. All rubber hoses will need to be replaced. The wiring under the dash and under the hood is in good condition. All four wheels turn freely.

The owner replaced the original door cards with his own fabricated roll up plexi-glass window system. Along with an outside door latch opener. This can be changed be to the original configuration without a lot of trouble. It will need a new top.
