Car description |
---|
This is an excellent car for restoration, and it is offered here for the first time, before we blast it to bare metal and begin work on it.
Old Documentation shows the car had 41000 miles on it in 1988
Originally black with red seats, many years ago it appears it had new rocker panels installed and the car was painted red.
The previous owner removed the fenders, and did some paint removal from portions of the exterio, as shown in pictures, and removed the engine & transmission.
We acquired it after the restoration stalled. We have many detailed pictures of the car condition, and have posted only a limited number here. You can call me at 256.507.3328 for a more complete group These present the car fairly .
Both doors have no big rust-through areas in the bottoms, as shown in the posted picture of one. The door window glass is good and the regulators (handles) work .
The body tub is quite solid, and has pretty straight looking panels. The rear valance appears pretty good and useable, as is the front lower pan in the grill opening. More pictures available.
The four fenders are straight, solid, but with typical rust damage at the bottoms. More pictures are available
Overall, the worst rust is at both ends of the rocker panel are, and we have only shown one typical picture, but more are available.
Under-side fender wells have original black paint beneathbig areas of undercoatng that we have peeled off . One fender well is shown, but we have many close-ups of all fou, available.
The wood floors, inner panels, both battery trays, etc all look good, and probably are acceptable for a decent driver. Seats need upholstery, but appear to be strong and suitable for restoration
