This project started last Christmas and was complete in 9 months. Total rebuild of the front and rear suspension with all new parts . Stripped the interior for that rally look. New lever shocks are mounted in all four corners. The MG has been lowered about 2" all aroung for that chrome bumper ride height.
Rebuilt the seats in black with red trim, new firm foam inserts and removable rests. The interior was refitted with stainless steel panels. Removed the rubber bumpers and added Sebring style aero panels in steel and poly. A roll bar was bolted in.
English plates and plate holder. Hella rear rally red fog light. Rear Sebring style cap. Rear Sebring spoiler
New tires were fitted, added front and rear wire wheel hubs and the wires were powder coated in black. The spin off are ear type and safety wired. The steering wheel was removed and replaced with an early style Banjo steering wheel with custom a custom made hub.
The engine runs strong, Weber down draughts, stainless steel tourist exhaust and a 120amp alternator . There is more than enough power to drive all the rally lamps and much more.Custom light bar with 2 Cibie Oscar 100W rally light, have 2 more in boxes and 2 Cibie yellow iodine 100 rally fogs. Newer H4 headlight bulbs, flat face with Sebring style aero covers. The side markers and antennae have been covered with aluminum caps.
All the wiring is new for the rally lights . The lights are wired to industrial 30 amp switches. There are 4 extra switches on a custom panel that can used to wire number lights and any other lights. There are 4 original Smiths watches and stop watches mounted on a custom aluminum plate in front of the navigators seat.
2 batteries are trunk mounted on stainless steel holders and new wire installed.
The driver and navigator both have dead pedals to rest their feet on.
The removable top has 2 three position rally vents that work really well to force clean cool air into the cabin.
The hood has been cut and a large louvre panel has been bolted in for engine cooling. The hood has 2 shock tubes to hold it up .
A new radiator and hoses have been added . I removed the thermostat and replace in with a racing open valve.
New oil cooler installed and mounted 4" lower in the bottom air duct.
Great running car. I did the Stowe British Car Shoe and drove 1000 miles over a 3 day week end with zero problems. Even took 3rd place in the MGB category
Have all receipts for parts and labor .
