Car description |

Mileage: 53,500 (52,000 on the old speedometer - 1,500 on the new one - see pics).
This car has a 1995 3.4 liter Camaro engine and T5 5-speed manual transmission installed. I bought the drivetrain from a hot rod shop,it was a rear-end wreck with 80,000 miles on it. This is one of the more common MGB conversions. The engine is about the same weight asthe original 1.9 liter engine. See http://www.britishv8.org/photos-mg-conversions.htm to explore the whole subculture of British carconversions. This car has a clean California title and is exempt from smog testing.
The Camaro engine bumps up horsepower from 92 to 160. Needless to say the combination of this with the light weight of the MG produces avery high performing sports car. The acceleration is thrilling and it cruises nicely at 95 mph. This car is a real head turner.
Here are some of the highlights:

Here are some of the highlights:
- The Camaro engine is fuel injected - low maintenance and longer engine life than carburetors.
- Fairly recent paint job in British racing green.
- The radio/CD player and speakers are brand new.
- The interior is fairly new tan leather.
- The wire wheels are chrome finish.
- Tires have good tread.
- The dashboard is from a later model MGB (76-80) and it has 6-dial VDO gauges. It has a glove compartment which is better than the ugly "pillow dash" that was standard for the 1970 model.
- The soft top and boot cover are quality canvas.
- It also comes with a vinyl tonneau.
- There is a remote battery connector for trickle charging, handy for the winter.
- I do have a spare wheel, although it's a bit rusty.
- This is a California car, so no rust. There was a small amount of rust in the floor panel which has been repaired and the car has beenundercoated.
- The car has a custom exhaust with catalytic converter, it has a nice beefy sound.
- Install the window washer motor (part included with sale).
- Fix the high beam flasher (the high beam itself works).
- Fix the tachometer (I believe the sender is at fault).
- Fix the reverse lights.
- Install the heater unit (part included with sale).
- The fuel gauge goes about 3/4 way when full, but it's accurate on the empty end.
- The bottom radiator hose impinges on the steering column, this should be replaced with a longer one but it's not urgent.
- There is a small oil leak which doesn't require regular topping up.
- There is a small leak in one of the struts.
- The serpentine belt chirps when the car is cold because it's a little worn, it can be replaced.
- The lower pulley occasionally impinges on the crossmember when going downhill, this can be fixed by jacking the engine up and insertinga couple of spacers on the engine mounts (parts included with sale).
- The Camaro computer needs securing in the engine bay (it's in bubble wrap right now, see pic).
