Car description

Up for auction we have a very original numbers matching 1978 MGB roadster in excellent running and driving condition. This is a rust rot free California car that has always been well maintained and serviced regularly. This roadster is currently titled and registered in CA.

The exterior maroon paint is in very nice condition and all exterior chrome is complete and in great shape. The front and rear rubber bumpers are excellent. The interior is also in great condition. The black seats are perfect without any wear or tear to be seen. The dash is complete with all gauges and all the wood is intact. In fact, this is probably the nicest looking dash I’ve seen on a late MGB. The Sony radio with CD player and speakers sound excellent. The carpeting throughout is complete and tidy. The door panels are also in excellent condition. The soft top and frame are perfectly functional. The underside of the car does show some surface rust to the suspension parts as this MG resides near the beach, however there is no rust rot in the floors whatsoever. The trunk space is complete with a good spare wheel and tire, jack stand, and tool roll.

From cold this MG starts right up. The engine sounds strong without any unwanted indications of an unhealthy engine. The gauges show good oil pressure, and it does not overheat. The speedo and tach both seem to read accurately. The steering is tight and responsive, and the gearbox feels really good, and easily and smoothly shifts in and out from gear to gear. The factory overdrive drops in and out as it should with the flip of a switch. The brakes feel excellent, and the parking brake holds as well. Electrically everything is functioning properly.

Overall this MGB is an excellent candidate for a daily driver or just a really fun car to take for a spin around the town.A very original example that hasn’t been overly modified and molested is becoming harder and harder to find, so bid to win this MGB roadster.
