I picked this up in Eastern Texas last week after picking up a new car trailer there. Would not mind keeping it myself, but will list it first . Hope it does not sellIt is that nice. This is a 1953 MG TD that was built about 5 years ago by a very talented street rodder near Houston. He built this for himself, finished it,drove it like 514 miles according to the speedometer.
Then had health issue, put it away in his garage and passed awaySo it sat like 5 years. The son sold it and here it is.It has 1957 Chevrolet 283 with a Holley 600 4 barrel.Turbo 350 AT.It has a 8 3/4 Chrysler rear end .Front disc brakes on stock TD spindles. American Racing mags with Michelin directional radialsThe wood timbers have been replaced with metal so no sagging, stress, etc. Done neatly and cleanly. As everything the fellow did is.One of the cleanest, nicest, most rustfree TD frame and bodies I have seen.Top and bottom. And I have seen a lot. All new wiring which looks like PainlessDone unbelievably neatly. As is everything he did. You can eat off the bottom of this car. Well, the little bit of Texas mud that got there when the car was driven to my trailer probably should be cleaned off first. Or not.. The firewall, the fit,the suspension, the chrome windshield frame looks new,as does the grille, stock TD radiator looks redone, beautiful clean tranny cross ember mount.Has metal floor, well done roll cage with racing bucket seats and belts. Battery placed in rear. New chrome fuel tank side panels. All new Stewart Warner vintage look black face, white letter and dial gauges. The body work is beautiful. Paint is high quality.Top and bottom. The hood bonnets are vented. I have no clue on drivetrain history but looking at it from the bottom,I imagine he went thru it thru it before install. Same with tranny, rear end, suspension, etc. He did everything first class and cut no corners. At all.The running boards have new strip, gaskets, etc. The windshield bottom gasket is new. The glass itself is new. And on and on. Just a beautiful build top to bottom. You could not build this car for 3 times what I am asking.British old school looks, American drivetrain. New non Lucas wiring, front disc brakes with redone TD lever shock corners. Rear 8 3/4 inch axle with tube type shocks. Great combination. All done cleanly . Full payment due within 7 days of auction end.Storage till pickup is arranged is no problem. And I can get it delivered to Long Beach California shippers for $300 usd. And I travel around mostly the West coast this time of year and can help get it to you or close for reasonable money. Straight clean Arizona title in my name
