The original canvas convertible top is shot, but the top frame is in excellent condition. Everything is there. The car is complete.

The wipers, all lights, turn signals and horn work as they should. Original color was Ivory with red leather. Engine # XPEG 2300
Car # HDP46/8305

The car is offered as a solid, straight, running and driving, original 1955 MG TF 1500 that is in need of a good home. Those of you who prefer patina, will think twice about painting this TF. It has a great look.

What has been done since we took possession of this 55 TF. We have hand washed the car, drained the old fuel, removed the fuel pump, filed the fuel pump points and lubricated the fuel pump's moving parts and checked it's operation. Checked that the fuel lines are clear and clean, Checked and cleaned the carburetors, Installed new Champion N5C spark plugs, gapped to .024", Changed the oil filter and oil with Castrol, Installed a good battery, Checked the distributor points gap and function, Checked the radiator and coolant condition and level.

We added fresh fuel, pulled the choke, turned the key, listened for the fuel pump to get a bite of fuel, double checked the lines for leaks and confirmed the float chambers were filling and the floats floating, gave the throttle a couple of pumps and pulled the starter knob. She started and idled well with good oil pressure and no leaks.

The clutch and gearbox were checked for proper operation and found to work as they should. The brakes work, but need attention.

In response to a question concerning the engine number, I have discovered the following. I could not find a brass stamped number on the block's right front side, or anywhere else on the block, however the head is stamped on the flat surface of the right side front of the head. These numbers are AEF118. The Carb's are 1.25 inchers. So, I am not totally sure the engine block is the original block that came with the car when it was manufactured or delivered new. I am certain that it is a T Series MG motor, and that the head is correct for a 1500 TF. I post this here not only to inform other interested parties, but make sure the person who asked the question gets the initial question gets the answer. When I answered his question through eBay's "answer question" message system, I got a "something went wrong" screen, after I hit send.
Thank you!
