Car description |
---|
Fantastic body, confirmed by going over all of the edges with a kitchen magnet, NO indication of plastic filler. Incredible for ANY fifty year plus car. With beautiful deep green paint.
Rebuilt engine and 4 speed ALL SYNCHROMESH transmission (can't begin to tell a prospective buyer how important this is....much stronger, easier shifting, and can be downshifted into first gear while moving....the installation is an early MGB owner's dream). Twin SUs which appear to have been rebuilt, excellent compression and perfect oil pressure, no smoke on cold start up or at full operating temperature.
Tight front end, brakes redone, front premium cross drilled/slotted rotors, new calipers, excellent wiring and electricals, all original gauges work, quiet exhaust, original style banjo steering wheel, wood dashboard, modern stereo, new top, spotless trunk (and yes, comes with proper wire wheel spare and tire and jack with knock off hammer), oil cooler, and........
......all new interior, seats done in leather, new panels and carpets, really spotless (as seen in the photos). All of the chrome is very good, most is new.
Not much to add....these are fabulous classic sports car with ample performance, great steering, ride, handling, and are incredibly easy to service and maintain. With parts availability second to none in the classic sports car industry and generally very inexpensive.
Which is why, in England, one can purchase an MGB replica using a new body shell identical to this car but costing over $125,000!
An easy summary...no plastic filler, no rust, rebuilt drive train, all new interior, excellent chrome, wire wheels, stereo, on and on and on. One of the best early MGBs one can imagine.
And for sale in various other mediums, reserve the right to end the auction at any time and for any reason....car is ready for immediate sale, still has its 2019 NY State inspection (so, yes, a governmental organization validates the car being ready to be safely driven anywhere), tires are new, same with chrome knock offs, wire wheels seem to be in excellent condition, exhaust is quiet, not much left to add.
If you have any questions, PLEASE call 203-377-6746 during business hours and I will do my best to answer. I have tried to represent this car accurately, have done a compression test, driven the car in 95 degree weather (and yes, it runs cool), checked front end, brakes, suspension, and all electrics. Ready for fun driving and show use.On Aug-21-18 at 08:01:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

On Aug-21-18 at 13:27:15 PDT, seller added the following information:Note: I (and one interested party) noticed two small holes in the image of one side of the floor. I tapped around the hole with a sharp tool and it is very solid. Hard to imagine a rust hole that had perfectly solid metal around the edges, hence, I suspect these were drilled for drains. Not only is there no rust underneath but the two battery boxes are excellent, not damaged, not rusted, not ever showing any repairs.
