Car description

Here's a rare example of MGB. It has only 9500 miles on it. It had been driven sparingly by its first owner until it had a very minor fire in the mid 1990s. A fuel hose sprung a leak and there was a minor fire at firewall by heater box. Back then these were worth not much, so the insurance co. Wrote it off due to cost of paint and a few other minor repairs. With that said the title does say rebuilt. I saw no concern with that as this MG has its original sheet metal not like some of the restored cars out there with lots of metal replaced. No hits or body damage. Moving on the second owner removed heater box and repaired paint and replaced wiring. He installed new tires and drove it some and had health issues, so it was parked inside for several more years. I bought it late last year.I serviced engine with new hoses, water pump and coolant. Distributor was replaced with a nos Lucas 25D4. Brakes with new hoses, rotors and pads in front and new wheel cylinders in the rear using the original brake shoes! I upgraded the intake and carb with a intake I purchased in Australia and a new SU HIF44 carb. and new fuel pump. New Bell big bore exhaust replacing the original which was like new. The Bell gives a sweet exhaust note. New Minilite type wheels installed and has matching spare. The jack and wrench tool kit is complete and unused. I installed new carpet and seats to increase comfort. I also installed a limited edition type steering wheel. The Convertible top is new as well as the top boot cover. Trunk has a carpet kit to make it more finished than the original just paint look. This car is sharp and ready to drive. Runs perfect and drives like a MGB should. Lastly I did the chrome bumper conversion. The car had a respray due to modern paint is too shiny and would not look right. It's not a show car, but not too far from it. I'm selling due to I need a bigger toy my family can ride in. I have a fortune in this car (over 8k in receipts alone and not including purchase price) but listing this car at a fair price. Comes with a pile of receipts, see second to last photo. Last photo is the day I brought it home. Feel free to ask questions or make offer.
