Your bidding on a 1972 MGB Roadster, Red in color, with a Black Interior, Top, Boot & Tonneau cover, all of the preceding items are in very nice, but used condition! The featured automobile ispowered by a 1.8 Liter, inline 4 cylinder engine, and 4 speed gear box, the overallcondition of this little gem is above average, the interior is clean, the seats are in very nice shape as are the door panels, plus there isn't any signs of water damage of any kind, and has only 77,607 actual miles on the odometer, OK so here is the story! my sister calls me, to let me know that her neighbor has this car sitting in her garage! ( have you heard this one before? ) anyway she called mebecause the neighbor is thinking of selling it!!! This gal is in her late 30's, the story is as follows, her father owned this car but gave it to her when she started college, and it was used while she obtained her education, upon completion of said education she found a job, bought a house, and a SUV, and the little car was put in the garage only to be driven two or three times per summer, just to try and keep it in running condition ( per her father's request. ) So time marches on, the car gets it's 2 or 3 times out and then back into thegarage it goes. Then one summer day it won't start, ( dead battery? ) she replaced the alternator, butalas the little car sat, 5 or 6 years collecting dust. The story at this point is I better sell it before it becomes a lawn decoration. We were informed that the car had been a very dependable great running little car and she was sad to see it go!. She also told us the top was replaced about 10+ years back, along with the drives side seat cover, they did a very nice job! and that it had been repainted once some time before the new top was installed, the paint looks great and is in very nice condition, it cleaned-up nicely with a wash and wax job! All the bright metal work is in very nice condition, and shines up nice and bright, it's a lucky thing it is a 1972 so there is none of the "BIG BLACK UGLY BUMPERS". We changed all the fluids, anti-freeze, oil & filter, removed all the old fuel and replaced with fresh gas, replaced all the brake fluid, and rebuilt the proportioning valve, bleed the brakes, removed thecarburetor cleaned and refurbished, replaced the spark plugs, installed a new battery! Pushed in the clutch, turned the key she turned over 4 or 5 time and we had life!! OK so here is a list of the pluses, not including the previously mentioned items! First it's a 1972 so no ugly black bumpers, engine only has 77,xxx miles, 4 speed manual trans, (fun!), newerconvertible top, & boot, tonneau cover, newer paint, new alternator, new battery, new trunk carpet set, new spare tire with cover, original jack & lug wrenches, in original factory bag, the interior and carpet are in great shape, AM/FM Stereo radio, with rear box speaker, new Rostyle Rally wheel trim rings & center caps, plus this car drives out great, runs great, shifts smooth!!! Ok now just to be fair here are a few minuses that I know of the wind screen has a very small crack near the top of the frame, I assume it is due to the fact that it is near the point where the convertible top clampsto the wind screen. And then I noticed whatappears to be a small rust hole in the upper inside, passenger side front fender, it is only noticeable when the bonnet isopene, how that got there is beyond me! ( please see the last photo in the series!) Well that's it as far as I know, the rest of this car looks to very sound and in good shape, never worked on a British Auto's before, just mostly GM, but this was a fun little project, in closing let me say that this little car has many, many more miles left in it, and many years of fun and enjoyment to boot, it just needs a good home and a little TLC! and a few good highway runs to keep it going. Thank you for your time and interest!
