Car description |
---|
This is the perfect middle of the pack race car that could be built into much more. The engine is a 1600cc and has been fully built to race spec with forged pistons and rods and competition internals--it is a race engine. The motor has about 8 races on it, but it currently needs a cam to be raced (it is drivable but it is chewing up cam drives). The motor makes good oil pressure and shows no other signs of wear. The car sounds great and is a very neutral, predictable car on the track. It is set up well and has had a lot of money put into it over the years. We have owned this MGA race car for approximately 10 years and have put countless dollars into it over that time. It has always gotten everything it needs without regard to cost. It is equipped with all of the goodies including tilton pedals and master cylinder, shift light, remote oil sump, turned aluminum overflows, aluminum radiator, fuel cell, competition springs, drilled front rotors, fully rebuilt competition spec suspension, three fiberglass fenders, braided steel fuel lines and more.
The car has been raced with the VSCCA and VRG for many years.

We maintain a group of 6 MGA race cars out of our fully equipped vintage race shop, Oxford Motorcars. Any desired performance modifications to whatever spec can be arranged prior to the car being shipped if the buyer so chooses. The car could easily be a front of the pack car with a new motor, or we could recommission it in time for this season if that is not a project the new owner wants to undertake on their own. Any arrangement can be made.
