For sale is a beautiful true 2-owner 1962 MGA Mk II Roadster. Finished in its factory correct Iris Blue, it was constructed on January 8 & 9 in 1962. Included is the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) certificate documenting the originality of its Iris Blue paint and black interior. Originally purchased new in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the first owner participated in the Nite Mare Rallye organized by the Pikes Peak Sports Car Club in June, 1962. Rust free, this MGA was sold to its second caretaker in Arizona in the 1990s.

Under the care of its second owner, a lifelong British car enthusiast, the car was subjected to a full restoration in 2003 (including rebuilding the factory correct 1622cc high-compression engine). When finished, it was enjoyed on several multi-state road trips and is fully mechanically sorted. The car was regularly driven and fanatically maintained in subsequent years. Included in the sale is the second owner's handwritten lubrication and maintenance schedule.

This MGA is in exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition, looks absolutely stunning, and is sure to appreciate in value over the next several years! If owning one of the finest MGAs on the market is a consideration for you, we'd invite you to come see, inspect, and drive this excellent example.

Exterior

In its factory correct Iris blue paint, bright chrome, and beautiful sweeping lines this MGA has a stunning presence. You could easily show it with great pride at your local weekend car show. The basecoat/clearcoat paint on this car is lustrous and beautiful. During restoration, the body was professionally disassembled, stripped and properly painted. While looking down the side of the car, it's evident the body is solid and laser straight. Because the car was driven and enjoyed, there are a few very minor rock chips which have been touched-up; none which are large in size and there are no visible chips, dings, dents, etc. It really does look as great as it does in pictures. The body gaps are even and lined up with precision on this car. The glass is in very good shape as are the rubber seals and chrome trim surrounds. The bumpers are in excellent condition along with the chrome trim and emblems.

Interior

The interior of this classic MG is in like-new condition. The black seats were refurbished and look and feel great. The carpet is in excellent shape as well and is free of stains, tears, and abrasions. The dashboard is beautiful and looks great with its black upholstered finish with contrasting chrome rings surrounding the gauges. All of the gauges are in proper working order as are the wipers, lights, turn signals, horn, and auxiliary passenger light. The factory correct steering wheel is in excellent shape and its large diameter feels great in your hands. This MGA has also includes a like-new white convertible top with side curtains.

Engine

The high-compression 1622cc 4-cylinder engine fires right up and runs strong and smooth. This car starts on first crank time every time. The engine does not smoke on start up nor while driving. The engine has excellent oil pressure and runs nice and cool even in Arizona's hot climate. The transmission was treated to a new clutch during the course of restoration. The 4-cylinder exhales through a great sounding exhaust system that gives this MG that classic British sports car sound. This MGA features disc brakes and stops well and straight. The tires are new Coker wide-whites and the car goes down the road at speed with ease. As previously mentioned the car has been restored in the past and is ice and tight, driving the way a MGA should.
