I am selling my 1955 MG TF1500 Midget. This car was purchased from a close friend's dad who has recently come down with Parkinson's. He has restored numerous MG's and I decided to purchase this very unique car from him. I am now offering it to you as I transition on to a different type of classic car. This car was restored in approximately 2000 and was repainted at that time per the information that I was given. It is a tremendous driver's car and I routinely drive it to work a couple of times a week. It also would present well at a local or regional car show. It is a great show car for a couple of reasons: first owing to its rarity (less than 3000 of the TF1500's built) and secondly its unique racing colors of the MG factory team. This color scheme is called Cream and Crackers and was the factory MG racing colors at Lemans and other top level racing events. The original factory color on this car was black for those wanting to know the history. Original factory colors on these cars were not specified by their VIN numbers unlike the later MGA etc. This car has a bunch of recent work done in order to drive it weekly including completely redone brakes; new drums all around, new pads, new fluids, new brake lines, new master cylinder and all seals. It has improved lighting systems; LED taillights, working blinkers and flashers; halogen fog lamps that are much brighter then the sealed beam headlights; sealed beam headlights, and working instrument lighting. The fuel system has been upgraded as well; new german fuel pump; fuel filter added; completely rebuilt carburetors with tuning and matching and seals, fuel bowls cleaned and new seals, new braided fuel lines. The engine had a compression test done and is 189psi in #2 cylinder and between 200psi and 205psi for the other cylinders #1,#3, and #4. Additionally, it maintains appropriate oil pressure when warm as you'd expect. The electrical systems has also been gone through; new battery, new spark plug wires, new plugs, new points, new armature, new capacitor, new relays etc. Inside the wood is original and refinished, the shift knob is new, the gauges all work and the interior kit is also new and in great shape along with the carpets. The top is tan and closes, I do not have the side windows, but if you ever wanted them they are readily available from Moss Motors and Victoria British, however I've never used the top except to insure that it works. It is in good shape, but is always in the down position, but I can provide pictures with it up if you are interested. The suspension has also been thoroughly gone through including rebuilt and repainted armstrong shocks, new polyurethane bushings and all zerk fittings work and are lubed. I just put new Vredestein tires classic sport radial tires on it all the way around including new tubes and rim liners. The spare was also done. The paint has been color sanded and given a beautiful finish, but it is not perfect and hope the pictures do it justice. I would say it is a "5 footer". Door fittings are good and the body is straight without any evidence of rust except a small amount on the rear leaf springs. This car also has retrofitted three point safety belts. If you're looking for the perfect car to take to MG events, occasional shows and take a safe drive with the wife, husband, kids or grandkids then I think you will enjoy this as much as my kids and I have. I hope this gives the information that you need to make a great purchase, but do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or want to talk over anything I may have left out. My mechanics are also happy to answer questions. Please don't hesitate to call or email if you have other questions. 4694807740
