The MG TC roadster is one of the world's most iconic classic cars with all the romance and style of the spoked-wheel era. This MG TC has a very unusual history. It was one of only a handful of MG TCs that ended up in Rhodesia (present-day Zimbabwe); even the tires say that they are made in Rhodesia. My father bought it in the late 1970s from a garage in Bulawayo (southern Zimbabwe) and brought it to our farm near Mazowe. just outside the capital city of Harare. where he'd built a garage to house it (see photos) and his TD and TF. He began a restoration but was unable to complete it due to the lack of available spare parts in Zimbabwe. It remained garaged on his farm since then until 2000. At that time farms were being seized as part of the Zimbabwe government's takeover of commercial farms and this MG was nearly captured by 'War Veterans' who were moving from farm to farm seizing property. It was towed to safety and then transported to the capital city of Harare where it was spirited away to South Africa and eventually ended up in Colorado. Here are some of the facts about this vehicle: My family has owned the car since the 1970s. Garaged since the late 1970s. always in a dry climate. Partial restoration was begun in the early 1980s but was not completed. The MG will now need a complete restoration. I have never tried to start it. The makers' plate is present. This car is number 0535. The plate also says 'XPAG 1246. ' It looks like most of the pieces are present. I know it is missing the running boards and it has no roof. The running boards were lost by the panel beaters in Zimbabwe; it has never had a roof since we have owned it. Other pieces may be missing but I can't say for sure. However. I can send more pictures and you can see for yourself. or you can ask me to check. It comes with a box of assorted parts. I can't give you any idea about mileage since the odometer was replaced. I can say that it has not been driven since at least the late 1970s. It has never been registered in the USA. I have the 4 brake housings (see photo). This vehicle doesn't have a title and has never been registered in North America. I am happy to provide the buyer with a Bill of Sale and I am also happy for the buyer to run any checks to ensure that the vehicle has no contested ownership. I can provide copies of the email communication between me and the shipper when I imported it in year 2000. I can also provide a number of photographs of the MG at our farm in Zimbabwe going back to the 1970s showing that it was not only stored in a garage but also that we have owned it for decades. I'm selling the car because it has been safely stored in a barn in Colorado but we are selling the property and have nowhere to keep it. It's a shame to part with it since I've always hoped to restore it but it just isn't feasible to keep it any longer. I am not an MG or a classic car expert but I'm very happy to answer questions as thoroughly as I can. I am also happy to send additional photographs of various angles of the car and if you are interested in seeing it in Peyton (just outside Colorado Springs) let me know. Thanks for your interest in this MG.
