I'm helping a friend sell his1961 MGA 1600 2-Door Coupe. He purchased the car in suburban Chicago in 1979, and it has served him well for nearly four decades of occasional trips around the block on the weekends with his grandkids.
The coupe features blue leather interior with the authentic, MGA wooden dash and mechanical gauges, and loop-wool rug.
The exterior was repainted in the 1980s to its original "Old English White" color. It has the original, MGA "spin-off" wire wheels (with newer Michelin tires).
The car's mileage is unavailable due to a malfunctioning rally cluster. (Neither the odometer nor the tachometer is working, and the fuel gauge is erratic.) While he's fairly certain that the engine is original, I'm including a photo of both the engine number and chassis number so you can verify for yourself.
Like most older, British sports cars, the car leaves behind a few drops of oil. The car has always been kept in a garage when not in use. A workshop manual is included in the sale, along with a car cover.
The car is located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. I'm happy to assist with your transport arrangements.
Terms: $500 due via PayPal within 72 hours of auction's end. Cash upon pick-up is preferable, but if paying with cashier's check or money order, please allow 5-7 days to clear the bank before pick-up. Illinois title is in-hand and clear.
