1950 MG TD R/H Drive
Car No. 1525
Engine No. 12331

This car is being sold my its third owner. It includes the original sales papers of its purchase in Nice, France in September 1950. The paperwork shows its export in 1951 to Italy and then in 1953 to New York, all by its original owner. The documents include registration certificates and some maintenance receipts. The car was sold in 1982 to its second owner and when he became ill it was sold to me by Premier Motorcars of Bonita Springs, Florida.
After purchase the car was thoroughly inspected and a list was made of maintenance items to bring the car up to safe and reliable standards.
The oil was drained and refilled with Hi Zinc "hot rod" oil and the original filter, being a non replaceable type was changed for a period look-alike but one that took a replaceable filter. All fluids were drained and refilled. The points and coil were removed and replaced with a Pertronix electronic ignition system and a New Pertronix coil. The ignition wires were also replaced. The rear suspension was completely rebuilt using all new rubber and overhauled shock absorbers. The brakes were serviced and new brake shoes and cylinders installed. The instruments were removed and sent to West Valley Instruments in California for inspection/overhaul and the oil pressure gauge was replaced with an instrument that registers both oil pressure and water temperature as in the later TDs. The original water temperature indicator on top of the radiator fill was left in place. The instrument panel was replaced with one made of African Tiger Wood and coated with an epoxy finish. The car was completely rewired using a Moss Motors wire harness, a turn signal system was installed and the generator was overhauled. The carburetters were rebuilt and the fuel pump replaced.
The car comes with a black vinyl top, toneau cover and side curtains. Also included is the original tool kit and owner's manual. The interior is black and looks like new.
The car is in excellent condition and is a pleasure to drive.
Car can be picked up in person or seller will help arrange shipping.
