Car description |
---|
Built in Spring of 1970, this MG B is the last of the chrome bumper cars. The MG was a North American Export that was sold new in Arizona stayed there until the last owner performed a complete rotisserie restoration on the car. Although the car is an easy shoe-in as a show winner, it's also a proven, and reliable driver.
The engine was completely rebuilt which included all new pistons, bearings, a new camshaft, rebuilt heads w/new valves, new rocker arms and a new oil pump. Providing a nice new big spark is a Pertronix distributor with a Flame Thrower coil. Mixing the air and fuel is a Weber down draft style carb, and the engine exhales through a new header that flows through a Moss stainless Tourist Trophy exhaust system. Keeping the engine cool is a new radiator, and keeping the driver warm is a new heater core. All hoses, and lines are new throughout the engine compartment, and the motor is finished in the proper 1970 color.
The body of the car was a rust free example and features all original metal throughout. All metal surfaces are highly detailed including the immaculate undercarriage, the super clean trunk, and the sparkling engine compartment. All trim on the exterior is either re-chromed, or restored, including the often neglected vent windows. The top is in excellent condition, and the car comes with a matching boot.
The interior is completely new including the carpeting, seats, dash visors..etc..All of the gauges were rebuilt and were reset to zero during the restoration. The entire wiring harness is new as well, and all electronic features are in good working order and the system has been converted to use a GM alternator.
The suspension was rebuilt from front to rear, and the hydraulics have end rebuilt as well. During the restoration, the brake lines were replaced with braided ones, and the rotors, calipers and master cylinder are new.
For the British car enthusiast looking for a fully restored MG B, this car is in stellar condition.
