Car description

1974 MG GT COUPE This vehicle was a trade-in at Dick Devoe Cadillac/Buick/GMC in Naples, Florida and we acquired the vehicle from them, so we are not the original owner but we have inspected this vehicle for mechanical and cosmetic issues and I will disclose (if any) issues below and will try to put cosmetic issues in the pictures. Please understand that we are not MG specialists but we are willing to answer any questions to the best of our ability about the car. If you would like to know something specific about the car, the best thing to do is call Adam @ 904-571-1241. He can send additional pictures and also do a walkaround and virtual test drive. I am going to put the reserve low on this vehicle and as the bids get closer we may actually just remove the reserve. If you would like to make us a reasonable offer, please call Adam @ 904-571-1241 and we can discuss price and if we can agree to a reasonable price for both of us I can take a deposit of $500 and end the listing. We are motivated sellers. Odometer reads 93,000 miles Outstanding color scheme with the fire engine red exterior on tan leather interior Exterior I would give a 7 out of 10, there are some very small bubbles that can be seen in the pictures but the quality of paint is pretty good. It obviously has been repainted at some point and they actually did a very good job. It looks like all glass was removed and possibly replaced with new glass all around, or at least all the rubber was replaced because there is no dryrotting and it looks flawless. Same with all the exterior chrome trim, it practically looks new with no oxidation and no peeling anywhere. All exterior accessories seem to be working and intact. Interior I would give a 9.75 out of 10. The interior has obviously been completely restored. The leather seats are nearly flawless and free from any rips or tears. The headliner looks to be new as does the carpeting. The dash is free from any fading or cracks and the steering wheel is my favorite part of the car with the woodgrain, gives it that elegant touch. The shift boot and knob also look to be new. Seems that all switches and gauges on the interior are correct and working. Carpet mats and rubber MG mats are present as well. There is leftover carpeting and leather included that is leftover from the interior restoration. Also, the seat belt re-tractors don't seem to be functioning properly for whatever reason and I would recommend probably replacing them. Mechanical condition I would give a 9.5 out of 10. The car runs and drives very well. Idles without issues, no smoke or strange noises. The car had a leaky valve cover gasket but we replaced it with a new one and haven't had a drop leak since. Underneath is rust-free, probably because the car has been in Florida. The suspension system looks to have been upgraded with newer parts, the coil springs in the front look new, the control arms and bushings in the front look new, the steering rack looks new, the radiator looks new, the Carburetor looks new-ish, the K&N intake looks new-ish, the wheels and tires look to be brand new (looks like less than 500 miles on them), cross drilled and slotted rotors look new along with the performance brake pads and the motor itself actually presents itself very well for its age. I'm not sure if its original or not, there is a plate with numbers stamped on the passenger side of the block but it's not the VIN to the car. The speedometer does read accurately the needle is just kind of bouncy, its probably normal I just don't know older cars. Looking at this car, somebody dumped a LOT of money into it. I wish I had a receipt list, I'm almost certain he/she spent $20,000-$25,000. Overall, I would rate this car an 8.5 out of 10. This car would be a really good driver and could be a collectible if you want to fix a couple things that I've stated above. It is a beautiful car and presents itself very well and turns a lot of heads around here. I have taken 100 high resolution pictures of the car for you to see below, please view the photos for condition. Most of our customers buy sight unseen because we put so many photos on our listings and do our best to write up detailed descriptions of each vehicle.
