Due to an Ebay error, this car is beingrelisted.Car information1962 MGA 1600 Mk II RoadsterVinNo. GHNL2/102157 Engine No. 16GC-U-1502, nbsp;correct 1622 cc engine size for 1962Body No. B33927Rear Axle No. 1500 Gearbox No. 9966, known to have been changed to this in 1974Heritage CertificateBuild date of June 29th and 30th, 961. Date originally titled in United States July 18, 963. See attached British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certified copy of factory record for the known build information regarding this car. This car is one of 2,200 left-hand drive made forthisfinal 1962 model yearbuilt for North American export.Known ownership historyI recently purchased this vehicle from a gentleman in New Castle, ennsylvania, ho owned it 41 years. He purchased it, ight unseen, rom a gentleman who didn't want to doatransmission repair. After replacing the transmission, e had brake problems on the first day driving it and placed it in covered storage for 31 years. When he could no longer use that storage, e built a tarped enclosure; but the tarps wouldeventually leak, o he would add one as he could. Unfortunately, t was during this time thatthe carreceivedobvious weather exposure. The only other bit of ownership history I am aware of is thathe bought the carnearby in Pennsylvania. There is also a window sticker from theCommonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1968/1969. I believe this could account for the 58,824 milesshown on theodometer as being correct. All of the mileswere put on in the first 14 years ofownership. Clear Ohiotitleis in my name.Restoration prospectIt is my hope thatthis car is a restoration prospect. It would be an ambitious project. There is a lot of rust along the body seams and other areas. Yet other areas are sturdier. Ialso see areas of rust concern on theframe, fter removing the plywood floorboards. There is obvious evidence of previous patching up and painting from over 40 years ago. However, fter seeing what people are doing, tarting out with cars of much less rarity and finished value, am certain someone out there has what it takes to do this car and be glad they did.More vehicle info, the good and badNote the authentic, intage Talbot & Co.
