This car was originally purchased new in California in 1977. It was brought to Atlanta by second owner in 1998. I am the third owner and began to rebuild and upgrade the car in 2000. It currently has over $6000 of new parts installed. The original engine was discarded and replaced with a race ready engine built by Reed Speed&Sport of Cumming, A. The transmission was replaced with a locally rebuilt unit. In short, his car will go!Details: Most of the upgrade/replace work was completed in 2005. Since that time the car has been stored except to drive short distances several times per year to preserve the running gear. The oil has been changed once per year regardless of the need. There is certainly no more that about 500 miles on the car. The suspension has been lowered to former chrome bumper standards using custom kingpins and all new shocks and bushings so as to improve both looks and handling. Rear shocks are rebuilt originals. The car uses Mini wheels with all new brakes. The fuel pump is brand new. The engine came bored .020 over to aid in seating the new pistons which were profiled so as to optimize the compression ratio for street running with premium gas. The head is an earlier big valve type with new springs, ronze guides, alves and lifters. The cam is by Crane intended to yield higher torque at lower RPM's. Induction is by newly rebuilt duel SU HS-4 Carbs. Exhaust is all new and manifolds have been flame-spray coated with ceramic. A new distributor with hot coil is included. If buyer wants, tandard distributor can be swapped out for electronic ignition. Brake servo is new as well as rebuilt master cylinder. New heavy duty Delco alternator installed. Radiator rodded and rebuilt. The top and tonneau are in good condition except for a few places that could use restitching. Carpets are new. All work and parts documentation are provided. This MG would make a fast and fun rally car, intage racer, r great handling mountain touring car. I am including a number of extra assorted parts and stuff with car such as tech how-to books and 12 volt relays to turn on the lights-- no more Prince of Darkness. I will gladly answer any questions and invite all reasonable offers. You can buy a cheaper car and work on it forever or you can buy one with the bulk of the major work done and enjoy the drive.
