Car description

1966 Mercury Montclair 4 door hardtop with 390 V8 and 3 speed manual transmission. Power steering/power brakes. 100% OEM correct

What I have for sale is a beautiful rust free survivor 1966 Mercury Montclair. Power steering and power brakes. This car is 100% factory correct and it retains many of its original components all which are in fine working order. So I can address all of the items of this vehicle as efficiently as possible I'm going to break them down into categories

Body- The body on this 4 door hardtop is in exceptional condition for its age. It wears its original Turquoise blue metallic paint which has not been repainted. Although the paint is 49 years old it has a great deal of luster left in it. There are portions of the hood, oof, nd trunk that have chipped due to the paint being original. This does not take away from the overall presentation of the car. The body is straight with no dings or dents. There is no evidence of body repair or cancerous metal. The undercarriage is clean with no signs of major corrosion. All chrome, rim, nd emblem pieces look as if they are only a few years old from new. This car was obviously taken care of during its last 49 years

Interior- This is probably the nicest original interior that I've ever seen on a classic. It looks practically new. Smells like new vinyl. All chrome trim inside the car shines and is free of pits or corrosion. The dash is not cracked and neither are the seats. The door panels all look like new.

Engine/Transmission- This car has its original 390 275hp V8 with a manual 3 speed transmission. The engine has exactly 72,500 miles on it and it has not rolled over. Seals, oses, iring, tc are all in good shape and do not show signs of major corrosion or malfunction. The hoses and belts have been changed within the last 10 years. The engine runs strong and does not clack, ing, r make any noises. Spark plugs and points changed recently. The transmission shifts smoothly from the column shifter as it was designed to do. This car will cruise comfortably at up to 80 mph or faster (should you choose to go that fast).

Suspension- Most of the suspension appears to be original except the shocks and some of the bushings. The suspension works as it should and gives the driver the feeling of "riding on a couch" with the factory bench seats. It's a very comfortable ride for long distance cruises or just around town. Power steering works so well this car can be driven with a simple whisk of a finger.

Brakes- Power breaks (disc brakes which are factory OEM) are in terrific shape. They've been serviced recently. This car will stop quickly with a gentle application of the brake pedal.

Electronics- All lights, ignals, ials, tc work as they should. The battery is about 5 years old so it could stand to be changed. All dials illuminate brightly and both the high/low beams work well. Radio is the original factory AM radio which picks up any AM station within your area. The volume, ade, nd treble/bass dial all work. Both the front and rear speakers work.

New parts on this car include: Tires, park plugs, ront end bushings, ower steering belt, nd alternator belt

This car needs nothing other than a driver to enjoy. Truly a time capsule car! This car can easily be purchased and driven home. I've had this vehicle as far as 300 miles away for car shows. Only reason I'm getting rid of this car is to downsize my collection. Cash, ashier's check, r PayPal preferred. Please contact me for further details or information.
