You are looking at a 1964 Mercury Park Lane Marauder Fastback The data plate code is "63F" which shows it to be a Marauder 2-dr hardtop fastback with split benchseat. 50th Anniversary model The car was manufactured in St. Louis and the DSO is "21" which is Atlanta. The Marauder had been in Georgia until it came to VA in May of 2011 From my research it appears that only 2,721 of this model were built in 1964. I also have the original factory build sheet. This Mercury belonged to my dad and was his dream car. Unfortunately he only owned the car for 14 months before he passed.....I don't have it on the road and it is now time to let it go. -The car has been rebuilt as a custom hot rod. It has been smoothed and some of the chrome has been removed. The hood was cut for an aluminum Hilborn style scoop.-It has a straight "A" code Onyx black exterior that was painted in 2008 (The paint and bodywork supposedly cost $14,000.00....) There are some runs, hips, cratches and bubbles in the paint. The paint is very good and it shows well, ut I would consider it to be driver quality and not show quality. Some of the stainless trim is dented, ut could easily be straightened. I spoke to the fellow that owned the car before my dad and he told me the car was super straight and that the body didn't have any exterior rust issues when it went to paint.-The pieces of trim that come over the front of the fender are both broken, ut I have both left and right NOS FoMoCo ones in the trunk. -Yes, t has some filler in the body. There is no other reasonable to way to get a 1964 car this straight without some filler. - Note: The original interior was code "61" medium blue, ut is now black. My Dad had the interior completely redone in 2010 as he didn't like the blue . The dash, arpet, eadliner, oor panels, eats front & rear, ackage tray, ick panels, oor seals, oof rail seals, runk mat, runk seals, indow felts, and quarter window seals were all done...$3,3000.00 worth.-The drivers side door is not opening from the outside. It was working fine but needs to be adjusted. It works from the inside. The drivers side vent crank is off, ut it is in the trunk. I believe that it needs the clip. -I'm not sure about all of the the electrics. The headlights, rake lights, nterior lights and turn signals are working. The CD radio and dash lights are not. There are some loose wires under the dash that need to be sorted.. -It was upgraded from the original generator to a GM alternator. -The power steering was rebuilt in 2006. The hoses were again replaced in 2010. -The original four wheel power drum brakes have been upgraded with a new GPS dual reservoir master cylinder and new booster. In the name of safety the brake system is now split front and rear. The brakes could stand to be bled. -The "Z" code big block 390 FE motor was completely rebuilt from the bottom end to the rocker arms in 2006. It was bored .030"over, as decked, ine honed and balanced. It has a hydraulic flat tappet 268 Comp Cam with .494"lift, delbrock Performer 4-bbl intake, Pertronix electronic ignition & coi, nd a 600 CFM Holley 4-bbl carb with electric choke ($4000.00+)-The engine sounds great!! It starts right up with a pump of the pedal. It has a nice lope, he oil pressure is good and did I mention that it sounds great! -The exhaust system has Crites long tube headers, lowmaster mufflers and full dual 2 1/2" pipes exiting at the bumper. ($850.00) -The automatic transmission is a TCI Streetfighter C6 with a 2200 rpm stall TCI Breakaway torque converter. The TCI Outlaw shifter is floor mounted and the transmission has a TCI Trans mount ($1700.00)-I did notice a slight transmission pan gasket leak after moving it a few weeks ago. -The suspension has Macs front coil springs, ear leaf springs and Monroe/KYB shocks that were all replaced in 2007 ($600.00) -The front end rebuilt 2006-2007. I can see that the sway bar endlink bushings have rotted. -It has Crager SS chrome mag wheels & BFG TA radial tires. The tire sizes are 225/70/15 in the front and 255/60/15 in the rear. The car sits well. ($1000.00) -The 9" rear was rebuilt with new 3.50 gears and a Summit locking differential. ($630.00) -The cooling system has a large Griffin aluminum radiator with dual Spal electric fans. The fans are thermostatically controlled to come on at 190 or so.. The hoses and engine thermostat are new. -The frame and underbody look to be very good. The only rust through that I see is in the inside of the rear quarters, he battery try and a small spot were the passenger front fender and the radiator support meet. The rust repairs were started in the quarters on the drivers side, ut I don't know why this wasn't finished while in the body shop. The picture of the passenger side appears worst than it is. There is some undercoating flaking off and mud which gives the appearance of more rust. It is really not too bad at all. Any work needed is very straight forward. -The wipers arms have been removed and that area was smoothed. I believe the mechanism is still under the dash. I spoke to the prior owner about this and he told me that he wanted a smooth look and that the car wasn't driven in the rain. -The windows are heavily tinted. -It needs the speedo cable installed. I have a new one in the trunk. The truck lock is broken/missing and there is a crack in the filler that was used to smooth the trunk filler below the lock. This happened when trying to get into the trunk. It would be very simple to hook up a mechanical remote for the trunk. -There are no emergency brake cables.... -There is some pitting on the windshield and on the rear glass. I guess this was from sanding or grinding? My glass guy looked it over and he feels that the majority would polish right out. As you can see there was lots of money invested from 2006 -2010 and I have most of the receipts to substantiate the work. The car has been garage kept and was driven only a couple thousand miles since the work was done. Any receipts that I have will go to the new owner. The Marauder is drivable, ut has been off the road for the last five years. I have not had the car tagged or insured since it was brought to Virginia. Therefore, have only moved it around very short distances to keep things circulating. My dad on the other hand was driving the car a couple of times every week. I have had many people ask me about driving the car back to Georgia or wherever. My response is....I personally wouldn't do it without looking everything over. I don't have any doubts that the car would be road trip ready in short order. I may be selling it short, ut I guess that I am not as adventurous as I once was..... -The car is now titled in Virginia. The title is clear with no liens and is in my name. Please note that I am not the one who did the work nor am I the one who had it commissioned, ut I have tried to list the car honestly. I have showed both the good and the bad. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.. My Dad bought the car in October of 2009 with the majority of the work done. He then he had the headers, xhaust and the black interior done. He paid $9800.00 for the car and then put $4200.00+ into it....The reserve is below his original purchase price.I trailered it to a local car show the other weekend and it was well received. Many folks took photos of it and I only heard positive things said. The majority of the comments centered around how rare that the Marauder is and how cool that this one is. It is a unique car with a lot of personality. If I were to make one more improvement, think that it would be to add a teardrop style hood scoop!!The car is being sold as is and with no guarantees or warranty.
