1954 Mercury 4-Door Sedan (Restored) In Missoula. Montana. Completely restored by a professional. I just paid the bills! The car is brilliant metallic maroon and cream. That color combination turns a lot of heads quickly - note the cream color is on top AND above the rear wheels for added effect. I am told that this color arrangement came right out of the factory (special order in 1954). All I know is when I bought the car in 1964. it had only 42. 00 miles on it and the paint was original (metallic maroon and cream. as presented). The car has a ton of gorgeous chrome on it (see hood scoop ornament and grill. for example). During the restoration. the interior was modified drastically because the original design was quite dull and boring. The new interior was specifically designed to match the outside colors and enhance the sheer beauty of this car from front to back. Look at the 2-tone dash (maroon and cream)! Even the trunk was carpeted in matching colors. The engine was changed out to a 1957 Thunderbird Special 312. bored 30 thousandths over (now 317 CI). with chrome valve covers. The T-Bird Special provides plenty of power for a lighter car. Gas mileage is excellent if you can keep your foot out of the carburetor! This is a fun car to drive. Cruising is an absolute delight because of its unique design. inside and out. It is a great show car and draws a lot of attention. The car is located in Missoula. Montana. Transmission: 3-speed with overdrive (4th gear). T-Bird wire chromes (spoke wheels) with Firestone white walls. Twin glass pack pipes with a very nice rumble. Upgraded 12-volt system (changed from 6-volt during restoration). Sony radio/cassette player mounted under the dash. Seat belts all around (4 sets). Twin T-Bird mirrors. Mileage: 3. 44 (Since Restoration) Whether in the garage. on the streets. or in a museum. this car is indeed a work of art! And because of that. it turns a lot of heads fast. It’s the color combination! And the chrome. Plus. the interior is awesome! I have $38. 00 invested in this classic. Reason for selling the car is because we need to down-size our fleet.
