Car description

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this iconic 1939 Mercury Eight 99A. This classic comes in a hot rod style mat black paint job complemented by a tan interior. Powering the 99A is a 239 cubic inch flat head V8 motor mated to a manual gearbox. This vehicle comes from a professional collection and as such has been well maintained. Some of the recent maintenance includes new king pins, spindles, wheel bearings, tie rods, dual master cylinder, new gas and brake lines, front axel, motor mounts and much much more. Additionally, the Mercury has been converted to a 12 volt system making this classic a lot easier to live with. The Mercury Eight is one of the most iconic classics to date. These models have made their way into hit movies such as American Graffiti, Badlands, Grease and most notably driven by James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. So if you're in the market for a desirable classic sure to please, this 39 Mercury is the vehicle for you. Please call or email us today for more information.
The Mercury Eight is an automobile that was marketed by the Mercury division of Ford between 1939 and 1951. The debut model line of the Mercury division, Ford slotted the full-size Mercury Eight between the Ford Deluxe (later Custom) model lines and the Lincoln. In total, Ford assembled three generations of the Eight (before and after World War II). Although "Eight" script would not appear on the front of the hood until the 1941 model year, sales literature prominently referred to the car as the "Mercury Eight" from the very beginning. This is no doubt because the actual series names, 99A in 1939 and 09A in 1940, were somewhat less enticing.
