Car description

Anyone with less than 15 feedback, message me before bidding. For sale is my 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT, 351 4 speed car. This car is very clean, having spent most of its life in the west including Arizona, New Mexico, and California. The body, floors, rails, and torque boxes are very nice as shown in the pictures. The original color is Competition Gold, but was refinished in Burgundy metallic back in the 1990's. I have most of its history in the file that acompanies the car.The paint condition is driver quality, with touch up in some chips and other small imperfections, but it shows well. The Marti report is pictured, showing how it was built, but some changes (for the better) were made. The original 351 Cleveland was rebuilt, and a 393" stroker kit from Probe industries was added, and rotating assembly was balanced. The heads have been replaced with a set of "Australian" Cleveland heads, which feature the 2 barrel ports and closed combustion chambers. A Competition Cams camshaft was added, and not only performs well, but has a nice "lump" at idle. Intake is an aluminum high rise, carb is a Demon, and an MSD ignition finishes it off. The clutch assembly is Centerforce, 4 speed Toploader works well, and 9" rear has a posi with 3.70 gears. Exhaust is 2 1/2" with headers and Flowmaster mufflers. All engine paperwork is in hand. This car has had original power steering and power disc brakes added, along with a complete front end rebuild, so it is a pleasure to drive. The saddle interior is in nice shape, but the headliner has a rip, and the dash has a few small cracks. The original tach and oil pressure gauges do not operate, but the previous owner added an aftermarket tach and gauges. A kenwood stereo has been added at some time. This is a nice running, driving muscle car that is not perfect, but affordable. My son and I spend our free time drag racing, and I don't spend any time with this car. Instead of it sitting, it should be enjoyed by someone who would treat it well, and have fun with it. Feel free to message me questions, and I will answer them as fast as I can. I will help with loading if being transported, and have no problem selling outside of the United States, as long as the purchaser does all arranging. I request payment in full within 72 hours of auction close, by cash, certified check or wire transfer. The vehicle will not leave my possession until all funds have cleared. Thanks for looking!
