Mercury Convertible with Flathead 3 speed manual transmission
1940 Mercury Convertible with nostalgicflathead motor and manual 3 speed transmission. Ipurchasedthe car about 8 years ago and it has been a very dependable car show participant and a fun overall driver. I took the car down a 100 mile route on historic Highway 1 PCH for a weekend road trip and the car performed perfectly. I highly recommend doing that. Always gets a thumbs up and smiles as it has a certain amount of class, elegance and style only brought out by the1940 style of American motoring. It also helps that it has a stunning black finish with a matching black convertible top and tan interior. Top up is in great shape and goes up and down perfectly. I have replaced only a couple of items Top, Transmission, Exhaust and Fuel Tank. Very original car that is not a Hot Rod. It is all complete with the cool flathead motor that does not burn any oil and does not smoke. The car is very dependable and a blast to drive. Older restoration, but very presentable and 100 mechanically sound. No AC, USB plugs, Navigation or Power Steering only a AM radio nostalgic tothe period.
