Farm Fresh 1949 Mercury Woodie Station Wagon. Let me start off by saying it is next to impossible to find a high-desert, low rust, very restorable, and all original woody station wagon project to restore anymore...the time to buy it, is when one actually presents itself...don't miss this rare opportunity! This is being sold as part of an estate of a collector. Floor pans are amazingly solid for year. Outer rocker panels are rusty. door frames, and door structures are solid, and some still have residual, original wood around the windows. Car is a "roller" rear end is there, original column, and steering, all 4 wheels, tires may, or may not inflate, engine is long gone, and what we believe to be the original manual gearbox is in the pile of parts in the back. overall, the exterior metal is very straight, with penetrating rust limited down low outer rocker area, and rear bottoms of the front fenders. Bumpers are present, and appear to be in pretty good condition. Grille is absent, hood hinges are not on hood, but more than likely in the pile of parts in the rear. Dash, and gauges are present. All 4 doors are hung, and hinged. rear doors open, and close...even the tailgate. Rear glass is in place, and not bad for being original. Only real dents I seen walking around it, was one left rear 1/4 panel at the rear wheel opening, and right front passenger's side roof, a dent about the size of a softball. All-In-All a great, restorable, and very hard to find project. $500 Deposit due via paypal immediately following the auction. Balance paid by wire transfer, or cash in person within 72 hours.
