Car description

This 1950 Mercury Sport Sedan is from the classic lead sled era, and so it's great to see some custom street machine style. But as you look closer, you'll also see a very cool classic with solid investments, line the recently rebuilt flathead V8.

The 1950 Mercury has a legendary style. And that seems to be especially true for the sedan. After all, it gives a longer space to develop the artful full-length crease in the sheetmetal, and suicide doors are always a cool feature in classics. And this one has a true custom attitude with the trim expertly eliminated, and it was replaced with custom red and gold pinstriping. There are a ton of street machine details everywhere you look, including the dual spotlights, lowered suspension with lake pipes, whitewalls with Oldsmobile wheel covers, and extended dual exhaust tips. And everyone is really going to take notice of the headlights that fit custom Kaiser Manhattan units with factory-like precision.

You'll love taking this one to car shows just so you can open the suicide doors. They swing wide to let everyone get a great view of the interior. And when people do peek inside, they will be impressed. The interior is part of a more recent restoration. The tuck and roll style on both rows of seats and the doors instantly gives that great custom classic look. And the newer padding makes it all quite comfortable. But while you'll love the custom look, you'll also appreciate it for the vintage touches. You'll slip behind the classic steering wheel and gaze at the art deco dash that has everything from the proper heater controls to the AM radio still on display. It still even has the lock out leaver for Mercury's optional overdrive.

Ford's flathead V8 is always a great sight to see. The consignor states this was rebuilt about 2k miles ago, and so everything looks quite nice - from the bold block to those dual hoses doing a 90-degree dive into the motor. Plus, everything from a newer refurbished generator to an electric fan help keep this one a nice cruising classic. In fact, you'll love the sound the glasspack style dual exhaust makes and the classic old-school feeling of a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.

The 1950 Mercury is a custom car icon, and this one knows how to fulfil that legacy. Don't let this deal slip away, call today!
