Car description |
---|
This is a very nice, clean 1991 base model (non-turbo) Mercury Capri with 47,5xx guaranteed miles. 1.6 L 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission, power steering, brakes, locks, windows and mirrors. It has the optional fog lights. Clean interior, no rips or serious stains, paint is in very good condition with only the front bumper having been repainted. Brand new, correct grain black soft top PLUS .... the optional lift off hardtop with courtesy light and rear window defogge, and it is complete with the original cart and cover for storing the top, top install tools and instructions, dash cover (padded dash underneath is perfect!), a shop manual and even the original window sticker and owners manual! The hardtop and accessories are easily worth $1,000. I can include a second set of correct alloy wheels if desired.
This car starts and runs and stops just great! I am the third owner and it has always been a weekend "toy" - never used as a daily, only-car driver. I have owned it almost 20 years in Michigan and Florida ... selling because I am moving from Key West, FL where it is located, to California and don't have room for it where I'm going. Has a clear Michigan title and insured under my Hagerty collector policy.
Now the "bad news": the headlights do not pop up and down (needs motors) but can be manually raised and lowered, the air conditioning doesn't work again (undoubtedly from sitting) but was converted to R134 several years ago, the airbag light is flashing, the Alpine AM/FM/CD doesn't work but the original FoMoCo AM/FM is included, and the seat foam is deteriorating from age. Other than that it is a great example in clean, low mileage, unmolested, running condition.
The car MUST be picked up by February 12 as I am leaving for CA on the 13th. I will cooperate with buyer's shipper until then.
